Yeah clearly Tulane and James Madison were outmatched. But this is going to set up an all time slate for the Quarterfinals.
Tech vs. Oregon, IU vs. Bama, Ole Miss vs. Georgia could all go down to the wire. The only game I see being more than a possession is Miami vs Ohio St, even then I think it’ll be a 31-21 type game.

They are, I look at the current format as an 8 team playoff, but seeds 5-8 have a mini play-in tournament.
ETA: and in that sense it worked, instead of just taking seeds 5-8, the 9 and 10 seeds proved to be better than the 7 and 8 seeds.
