lol you really expect a game on NBA TV or the Ion channel to match the numbers for a game on ESPN or ABC.

Kinda contradicted yourself here. Which is it?

It’s a rationalization.

not at all, nice reach though by you.

the first post was about viewers going down THIS SEASON from the opening game to games being played later when the earlier games listed were on major networks and the latter games listed weren't.

the second post was about viewers being down over the last 20 years.

I understand they edited the video at the end where they make fun of the wnba sucking balls like it does

But I thought Clark did argue for higher pay for others

Of course she's going to advocate for higher pay. She's trying to extend some kind of olive branch to the radical racist lesbians in her league.

No, the point is that cord cutters should be able to watch just as easily on ion as on ESPN, if they wanted to. You also conveniently left out the CBS game between the ion and NBA TV games.

My opinion is that it’s a VERY temporary phenomenon, and the numbers will be back to where they were last season sooner than later.

last season was record breaking as well, the highest since 2008, so that would still be good with them.

quote:

VIEWERSHIP: Combined viewership for the WNBA across ESPN Networks (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2) and CBS Television Network was up 21 percent over the 2022 regular season. Viewership across ABC, ESPN and CBS was up eight percent over last season and averaged 505,000 viewers.
Additional season viewership highlights:
The WNBA on ABC averaged 627,000 viewers, making it the most-viewed regular season on ABC in 11 years.
The 2023 WNBA Regular Season reached over 36 million total unique viewers across all national networks, the highest since 2008 and up 27 percent from 2022.
The 2023 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game on ABC was the most-watched WNBA All-Star Game in 16 years, averaging 850,000 viewers with a peak of 955,000 viewers.
WNBA Draft 2023 presented by State Farm® averaged 572,000 viewers on ESPN, up 42 percent over last year and the most-watched WNBA Draft since 2004.
The WNBA also introduced appointment viewing this season with Thursday nights on Amazon Prime Video, WNBA Friday Night Spotlight with new broadcast partner ION, and weekend packages featuring the Disney/ESPN Networks, CBS and the CBS Sports Network.
Regular-season games on ION were consumed for a total of 14 million hours.

haha I don 't even give a shite about the WNBA and will never watch a game.

I just think it's funny the meltdown some are having over it.

I’ve never watched a WNBA game, and I doubt that I ever will. Not close to a meltdown, though. I’d just like for it to hurry up and return to irrelevance.
