Little fact Saints have best road record in NFL last 3 years

That may be true but the Saints still haven't won a road playoff game.

Stats like this never hold any merit IMO. The Saints are a franchise that's never done anything in the playoffs until a couple of years ago. They're the kind of team that would be a completely overmatched 6th seed setup for an arse-whopping. To even compare their past history on the road in the playoffs is reaching IMO.

Sproles is primarily because of things he does outside the running game and because the touches he gets are on average in much better situations than your every-down back. Of course he's going to have good averages on the ground. That's nice that he has all those return yards too and the record, but that doesn't have anything to do with his abilities as a RB or make the backfield any better. Versatile, sure.

So your discount is that he's good only because of his versatility? Even if this was true (which of course it's not, but we'll play along like it is), it still holds zero merit.

You do know that there is no way for you to restrict his versatility right? This isn't the Oklahoma drill where we're running it between some pylons, this is real life football. Sproles is a mismatch that every person with an unbiased pair of eyes can see.

Love nuggets like this.

The fact that you haven't seen it happen yet, doesn't mean it is impossible to happen.

Like people who use to say "A-Rod isn't clutch & chokes in the post-season" until he didn't and hit like he normally does.

I wonder is this part of the human condition or something unique to sports fans

The past 40+ years of Saints' history will have zero impact on the game tomorrow.

Your right, history has no bearing. Grown men line up tomorrow and play a grown mans game. No doubt there would be less doubt about the outcome were it to be played in the dome. Can the niner's win? Of course. Will they? I doubt it

Well he's a mismatch because of his versatility. It's not like you're going to run him between the tackles all game. He is a good player because of his versatility. Why is that a bad thing?

This means nothing.

The Saints, right now, have a window to win 2-3 Super Bowls in the next 6 years or so (starting in 2009).

As a Niner Fan that was born and raised in SLA, I laugh at the Saints fans I live around when I tell them this and they think the Saints will eff it up. I get it, the franchise has a bad history, but the NFL is different now.

I'll never forget calling my BFFs after week two of the 2009 season and telling them that the Saints would win the SB. They all thought I was nuts. I'm still pissed I didn't put $$$ on it. At the time the odds were over 10:1.

Regardless, I see the saints, before the end of February 2015 hoisting two more SB trophies. I honestly think if they win today, they will win it this year simply bc there are no other defenses in the NFL, outside of the Ravens and Niners, that can stop them. So, that's one for 2012, and one more between 2013-2015.

Save this post because I'm damn good at NFL predictions.

At this time last week they had never won a wild card game, either. Witness history two weeks going!

That's a great point and 2 years ago at the time the Saints had never won or hosted the NFCCG let alone the Super Bowl. Good thing what happened in the past doesn't mean jack shite.

What does this have to do with today? In early February 2010, they had never won a Super Bowl either.

IDK, have you been in a coma for 8 weeks, because I did not imagine the games since then.
