Just rewatched the video, he used his upper body to turn over. Hope we hear something positive soon.

He turned himself over, but it was clear he did it without any assistance from his lower body. And he started immediately grabbing at his back and moving his arms to make sure they didn’t go numb. He knew he was messed up.

Damn I hate to hear that

He won’t have feeling for hours. 9/10 this injury is spinal shock. He will lose all feeling from the site of injury down, which in this case is his legs.

I'm literally only watching this game still to get a (hopefully) positive update on Shazier.

Did he tackle with his facemask facing the ground? It's scary watching these little kids play football who you can't teach correct tackling technique...makes me wonder if my son should be playing. Really hope it's Not paralysis for shazier

I think the one positive thing is that they didn't complete immobilize his head and neck when they took him off. You'd think if paralysis were involved they'd have done that.

Most pointless update ever by Lisa

Status is unavailable. Don't hear that one too often.

Update given. Nothing said regarding status. Just transported by ambulance.

That’s not what spinal shock is.

Yes.

Yeah that was pointless.
shite like that makes what Gronk did even more perplexing. All it takes is just one weird arse hit to end someone’s career or even life.

I would say the chances of your son getting paralyzed in a car wreck on the way to the game are much greater than it actually happening in the game.

Don't tackle with your heads kids. Dude went head first into the runners hip. That's the type of tackle form they're trying to preach against at the lower levels of developmental football. It's just so ingrained in football instinct for these guys that they don't even think about it when they're going in for a tackle. Hope he's alright.

Are you a doctor? I hope you are right.

You have to tackle with you facemask up. That's the first, and most important thing you learn playing

I do this for a living. Go read a pathophysiology book please. Actually I’ll help you with knowledgeable information

When a spinal cord injury is caused due to trauma, the body goes into a state known as spinal shock. While spinal shock begins within a few minutes of the injury, it make take several hours before the full effects occur. During spinal shock the nervous system is unable to transmit signals, some of which may return once spinal shock has subsided, the time spinal shock lasts for is approximately 4-6 weeks following the injury. The loss of these signals will effect the persons movement, sensation and how well the body’s systems function. Often the persons loss of movement and sensation below the level of the spinal cord injury may appear complete soon after the injury
