Sometimes it’s unavoidable. If a 6’5” linebacker is getting down to tackle a 5’9” running back, it’s hard to get low enough to make a face up tackle

its all about that big hit.. and at this level everyone is alot bigger and faster and one slip up can cause major damage. As noted before, the hit didnt even look bad.

With Vaccaro on saints I remembered we could have cut him and his contract was 100% saved cap space

Some of it has to be guaranteed or it wouldn't be a big deal at all to pick up that 5th year option.

The guy is coming into the prime of his career. He really made it known with his play on the field that he is one of the better MLBs in the game.
I didn’t say he’d make the money he should have made, just that he won’t be ruined

Speaking of the Saints, Kamara scared the shite out of me at the end of the Carolina game landing on his head like that. That looked like it could've been bad.

IDK. You can still tackle without the crown being down.
You are droppings hips, not pivoting on them. I understand what you are saying but the best drop hips. Shazier did drop and get low, just didn't keep the crown up. Just happens sometimes.

Just looked it up, it’s fully guaranteed with an injury.

Yeah agree.
Just speaking of the fact if it is career ending, what a shame esp now.

Fun fact: NFL tried to get workers comp claims lowered for claims against teams

Article said the option has to have been exercised, was his? I have no clue if it has been.

Remember our coach in HS benching ppl who repeatedly tackled with their head down. Sometimes you just forget the basics.
Alabama staff had legit trouble coaching it out of him.

Hopeful that this will not end up being too bad. Being that the impact is with his head/neck and he continues to move all his upper extremities, it is obviously not a cervical spinal cord injury. I'm thinking the compression through the spine maybe caused a lumbar compression fracture and the shock from that is causing the temporary numbness/paralysis

All the tats on his neck caused his neck skin to tighten, pulling his head down

Doctor? Sounds like what SilverStallion was saying. That's good to hear.
