Rush Propst should be banned from coaching

After everything he's done in his career, it absolutely blows my mind why any school would hire him to represent its school. I get it that he wins games, but just about every high school coaching job he's ever had, he's been run off or fired due some type of scandal. He represents everything that is wrong with high school football and his "win at any cost attitude" is a horrible message to send to our youth.
In his first game as Pell City head coach last night, Propst once again couldn't control his temper and threw his headset as hard as he could at his son and the AD had to step in and pull his son away before things escalated any further. What an embarrassment!
Propst's response to the incident was that he will discipline his son as he sees fit. Really? It will be interesting to see if any type of discipline will be handed out to Propst, but something tells me it will be swept under the rug like so many other incidents. The reality is Pell City is coming off a 1-9 season and are desperate to turn the program around.
The question is, at what cost is Pell City going to allow a coach, with a history such as Propst, to continue his embarrassing antics for a few more wins?

I like how you left out the most important part of the story, that his headset hit his son's helmet. No harm no foul. Coach on coach.

So did he fire you, bench your son, or screw your old lady?

So you're okay with a coach throwing stuff at your child? You're okay that the AD had to step in the calm the situation down? You're okay with other players and younger children witnessing an incident like that?
It just speaks volumes to what type a person you are!

If you knew anything about Rush Propst, you'd be humming a different tune. Scandal follows him wherever he goes.
- He had two families while coaching at Hoover during the early-00s, keeping both of them a secret from the other.
- He ended up getting fired from Hoover when it was discovered that he had been bribing the school's guidance counselor and having the grades of his players changed so as to keep them eligible to play football.
- When he got a new job, this time at Colquitt County in Georgia, he was suspended for the entirety of the 2016 season after head-butting one of his players (and bloodying him) in the 2015 state playoffs.
- He was then fired from Colquitt in 2019 after being found to have violated the code of ethics for education, legal compliance, conduct with students, honesty, and public funds and property. It was also discovered during this investigation that he owed the government over $450,000 in unpaid taxes.
- When he was hired at Valdosta two years later, he was fired after it was discovered that he was illegally recruiting players to the school from out of the area. Five players were declared ineligible for the season and the school was placed on probation.
- Now you have this incident on the sidelines in Pell City, AL where a third party had to separate him from HIS OWN SON.

He's such a pathetic excuse for a human being...but clearly he's going to continue to get jobs until the day he dies.

He is a good football coach and that will keep him employed somewhere.

He hit the helmet. Calm down. This shouldnt even be a story.
Funniest part of that article is that his wife is the football team secretary and nutritionist.

High school sports jumped the shark a long time ago
Nothing worse than entitled high school head coaches and the message they send to todays youth

It amazes me that some people are okay with this behavior. He's a POS and should never been allowed to coach in any sport at any school.
So the next time a coach humiliates, bullies or assaults your child or any child, remember you support this type of behavior.
