just gonna keep a horrendous, active tally of how terrible these refs are:

1) after the INT by tua, the refs stated that "this is UGA's first sideline warning." it was their 2nd, the first happened a few minutes ago after the hardman TD

2) BLATANTLY obvious facemask missed by bama's D against swift

3) ref said the result of the play is a 1st down, when it was actually 3rd down

ETA:

4) Bama's guy who punched the UGA player after the kickoff should have been ejected after the punch

5) Bama's DB clearly held riley ridley's Left arm during the pass, should have been PI

Watch big man #77tackle the defender

Very next play... linemen blocking a guy 5 yards downfield with the ball in the air

Some more holding.. starting to seem like every big Bama play in the 2nd half..

Bama receiver/TE almost pulled to the ground by his jersey in this gif above the 4th & 4 graphic. Defensive holding missed

I loved how the old timer that was the lead official kept getting the signal for pass interference and block in the back confused, and then indicated a first down after a 3 yd gain on 1st and 10. Clueless.

WR at the botton of the screen was early.

Wow. That was blatant. Glad I went to bed after the "no blocked punt" fix job.

LOL

So basically CFB manufactured some drama last night and got Bama another win.

Way to go CFB! Another "classic". LOLOLOL

How do you not hit #30 with a personal foul pushing Fromm head down after the play was over?

Hard enough to beat Bama at face value. There was no chance last night.

you mean.. right after he pushed off hard as a MFer?

it's hilarious that the only play Bama fans can point to is a play where they scored a TD

You should see the replays of the Florida-Missouri game.

on 2 occasions, the ref calls the foul before the players even touches/does not touch the player on a jump shot. And those were just a few of several horrible calls in that game.

It's f'in horrendous in ALL sports.

AND committed an egregious false start that was ignored by the officials.

The first play was a called interference penalty due to contact on the head linesman... the second one there was no contact. You have a situation here in which the contact of the first infraction necessitates a penalty on its own (sideline interference).

The second infraction was a warning because no contact was made, but too many people were on the field.

These are two separate types of fouls, hence the penalty and then the warning.

2) BLATANTLY obvious facemask missed by bama's D against swift

Yep they missed that one. The R is watching the QB, the center judge should have been watching the backside of the line. The Line Judge should have had that but could have been screened out by another player.

quote:

3) ref said the result of the play is a 1st down, when it was actually 3rd down

They just made a mistake in the announcement. The down didn't change. No harm no foul.

quote:

4) Bama's guy who punched the UGA player after the kickoff should have been ejected after the punch

The emphasis in the NCAA is to flag, but not eject on this type of play. They handled this correctly based on what officials are taught in NCAA. In high school, yes he is ejected for fighting, but unless a brawl breaks out, this doesn't warrant an ejection in NCAA.

quote:

5) Bama's DB clearly held riley ridley's Left arm during the pass, should have been PI

This is another one that perhaps should have been called... could have been screened out.

A 10 yard difference... while certainly a mistake, this didn't change the game. It should have been a false start, but either way the block would not count since this would be enforced as a pre-snap, dead ball penalty.

I cant tell if the contact was initiated at the LOS. If contact is maintained from the LOS, then it doesn't matter how far downfield he is when the ball crosses the line. Now if that is a LB he is on, then we could have an issue, but I can't tell.

On the potential false start by the WR

... if you watch the ball, he seems to move at the same time as the snap... just got a good jump while everyone else was slower off the ball... probably luck, but he actually timed it well.

#30 push on Fromm

That's a missed penalty...should have been flagged no doubt. Especially on the QB.

Bama Holding

Yikes, no excuse. Those three plays are ALL at the point of contact and diminish the defenders step and direction. Those HAVE to be called.

Good call. There was enough action to warrant a flag.
