Damn, this sucks. Pretty disappointed that we would let this happen.

Hopefully this will be a wake up call to the administration and to our fans that we are not above these kinds of scandals. The 2012 season being vacated would be pretty gut-wrenching.

Where the heck is rocket31 to give us the inside skinny? I think he had decent scoop when Shembo allegedly raped the girl who killed herself.

I used to enjoy news like OP's when it involved Irish or Buckeyes, but Michigan is thugging it up pretty bad recently and I just come away thinking more and more when these stories hit that the whole system needs to be scrapped as half of these guys have no business being in school.

He's a USC fan so I'm not sure what route he's going for with the post.

frick their fans. This is good for them. They always think they are higher than everyone else

Doesn't this give their fans even more reason to be a little more high and mighty? That is, their standards appear to be higher than most schools when it comes to infractions? At least, that's my takeaway.

Nope. They believe, 100%, that going to ND makes their players intelligent and moral. For most of them, the Te'o scandal was a witch hunt by the media. Their QB who got kicked out and let back in for cheating didn't actually cheat, the NCAA was just running a witch hunt. Also, they seriously think that the sports media is anti-ND. They are fricking delusional.

And I'm marrying into an ND-family

One of my friends just posted this on facebook.

"Old Money I wouldn't have it any other way! I'm glad I go here, where officials don't turn heads to this type of stuff."

What are you talking about? There wasn't even an NCAA investigation with Golson.

I know. That's what I was told by about 30 different ND alums when I was up there in May.

Well, that's just dumb. The correct way to spin it is to say that at no other school would the starting QB be kicked out/suspended for a season, look at how serious we are.

I go to ND and have no clue what you are talking about. Most students here know the football players aren't the same as the normal student body here. No one thinks that Manti or Golson were witch hunts, and literally no one in the history of the universe has ever claimed that the media is anywhere close to anti-ND.

Maybe it's the alums. The majority of the current student body doesn't think any of that.

That is not true.

I think he got a contract extension after he killed that kid.

And you would be lying. I heard it from alums and students.

I guess I've avoided the really oblivious crowd then. The media having an anti-ND slant is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard

The 1920s were pretty bad as well, but you were just a baby back then.
