I think Boston may have a bigger/better target in mind than Dwight. I don't see Boston acquiring Dwight as a good move for the future of that franchise.

so why give those up for a 30 year old center who isn't a leader and seems to be injured a decent bit now?

How many games do you think he has missed to injury this year?

as they shouldn't. They're going to be built REALLY well if we're talking 2-3 years from now.

They are young and currently have the 3rd seed this year and are going to add a top 5 pick to their roster thanks to Brooklyn. Not including their own pick who might nab them a quality depth guy.

Sullinger-Olynyk-Zeller are a solid group of "centers".
They have a solid trio of guards in Thomas/Bradley/Smart
Jae Crowder is definitely underrated at SF, Evan Turner isn't half bad.

If it is anything, they need an upgrade at PF as Jerebko and Johnson are pretty lackluster.

Getting a guy like Bender who might develop into a great stretch-4 or Ingram/Simmons which is an even greater young chess piece if they wanted to facilitate a move.

I actually really like to Rockets (behind the Pels), but if you can't see why Dwight may not be a good long fermi vestment you are brig willfully blind.

Hasn't he missed about 8-9 games due to injury? I know at least 2 this year were suspensions

Well he tore his knee in the playoffs last season so to be super safe to start this season he wasn't playing back to backs. Pretty clearly he didn't need to be sitting those games. If you remove those he's missed 3-4 games to injury.

How long term? 5 years, no you can't give him max money. 4 years? I gotta think about it.

I would put it as closer to 2 or 3 years. Sure he will last longer than that in the league, but given declining importance of centers I'm not sure he can be one of your best two guys beyond that. Then on top of that, for those 2 to 3 you have to figure out a way to be better than GSW, which is a tall task.

All in all, I think the strategy of GMs should be to try and peak in four or five years. Moving Dwight for Dragic and Whiteside would position the Rockets for that window much better than hoping Dwight can hold it together for 5 years.

Is there any talk at all of Howard going to the Knicks? I know that was the goal a few years ago. I don't know if he or Anthony still have a huge desire to play together. But what if the Knicks offered a package built around Porzingis? They don't have much more to offer, but this worked (LINK Would be a drastic move for both teams, but has some upsides for each one..

So, what's latest?

Any fire to the smoke in these DH trade rumors? Seems like an uphill battle for Morrey to move him and get equal value, but he can't wait til the summer

That deal looked fair to me.
I'm not wanting to move d12 but I'd take that one.
