Rummel won this game by the skin of their teeth.

St. Aug is always one of this pesky teams with a ton of talent, but no coaching.

St Aug had a lot of help from officiating... SA’s first td, receiver clearly pushes off, official right there and nothing called. On the last Rummel drive, Rummel had it 4th and an inch, Wickersham runs the QB sneak and had the first by a foot. Little fat side judge actually runs backwards and gives him a loss of yardage. Other officials overruled the shithead and gave Rummel the first down to continue their drive.

Officials were a joke...

Side note, St Aug is notoriously known for never having a kicking game... Know how many times Rummel beat SA 7-6...

It's the curse of Vinnie Burns. He was our kicker in the early 2000's and he received a scholarship to Virgina Tech as a punter. There hasn't been a kid that could kick the ball past 15yds since.

Gotta hand it to Aug because getting 34 on Rummel's defense is quite a feat.

Yeah, this was the first game the Offense had to keep them in it.. and you could tell Rummel’s D was getting frustrated...

SA was basically running an RPO offense and they kept getting drawn to the fake. SA’s QB put them ahead. Rummel’s D stopped Curtis with their Veer, but had trouble stopping Aug for some reason.

SA never having a kicking game goes back before Otis Washington.

and the guy that blocked the punt was across the l.o.s. before the ball was even snapped... Another blown call by officiating...

False × 3!People repeat lies.Doesnt make it true though.

From 1951-1960,Coach Nick Conner had kickers. They won multiple City and District Titles.

1960S Coach Eddie Flint won 3 LIALO STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES going unbeaten in '65 and '66 with 3 different kickers including future NFL player Jackie Wallace!

From 1969-1979,Coach Otis Washington ALWAYS HAD A RELIABLE KICKER!!
The '70 District Champs had QB Dale Brock & QB/DB/K Keith Pete.plus 2 backups.

'71 District Champs had QB/K Keith Pete.plus 2 backups.

'72 #1 ranked AAAA 10-0-0 team AND
'73 top ten ranked team shared kickers.plus a reliable backup.

Ironically those 2 teams placed a Purple Knights kicker IN THE TOP 10 FOR PLACE KICKER SCORING TITLE!!

THAT SAME KICKER LED ALL METRO NOLA DISTRICTS IN SCORING, PLACING #1 in points scored!!

'74 K/DB Joe Evans missed a pat attempt against Rummel eliminating PKs from the playoffs.

'75 DB/K Joe Evans made the game winning fg beating Sulphur 11-10 enroute to becoming AAAA State Champions and the 1st team in the highest classification to win 15 games(15-0-0).

'76 and '77 no kicking issues.

'77 senior Fernandez and sophomore James Wagner shared kicking duties.

'78 James Wagner punted and place kicked for the 11AAAA District, AAAA State Champions.

'79 LSWA ALL STATE KICKER JAMES WAGNER completed his 3 year career with another above average season for THE FIRST AAAA BACK TO BACK STATE CHAMPIONS (&11AAAA DISTRICT CHAMPS).

From 1951-1979 St.Aug had NO Issues with Any Special Teams!

James Wagner was a backup P/K @ LSU who stepped in for the starter in 1980.He was 100% on his scoring opportunities and averaged 43 per punt vs Tulane and Vince Manalla!!

Facts not Fiction!
