Round 1 of the High School Football Playoffs: #1 vs. #32 what’s your game plan?

If you were the head coach of the #32 team in the state facing off against a Goliath #1 team in the state that clearly over powers you and has more talent, what would be your game plan to try to pull off the upset? You have to use your smarts since you don’t have the overall strength to match them so what do you do? Or do you just bring the lube and prepare thy anus?

Hope that I draw someone within an hour or two of my location and avoid having to go to the opposite end of the state to get kilt.

Truthfully, only hope is to run the ball/clock down and hope for some lucky breaks. Trick plays that keep the clock moving. I want 7 minute possessions minimum if I was a 32

Opening Kickoff- Ambush
If you recover it-
1. Spider 2 Y Banana
2. Gun Right Flex Stack 394 Dragon Smoke
3. Dash Right 93 Berlin
4. Fake 23 Blast with a backside George Reverse like your life depended on it
5. Annexation of Puerto Rico
6.
Rinse and Repeat... its like Novocain, just give it time it will work.

Who beat St. Paul's like 7 years ago?
Ask them.
Ask them.

this.
pray I have a good punter and make them go the distance of the field (hoping for turnovers)
pray for nasty weather
recruit better this summer

Only thing I’ve ever actually seen work was the strategy of telling your QB to not snap the ball until the play clock is within 5 seconds of running out. Of course it also took some luck with some key turnovers but it gives you a shot if you keep the ball out of their hands as much as possible.

Onside kicks, never punt, go for it every play, don’t get under center until the white hat raises his hand to indicate 5 seconds left, and pray.

When Centraj beat St. Paul’s, HUDL was just evolving. St. Paul’s offensive tendencies by formation type and down and distance were highly predictable.

2002 3A - #32 West St. Mary beat #1 ED White 20-19.
I don't know the details, but if I remember correctly, weather played a major role.

Was coming to post this one.
I'll tell you what happened - WSM had a ton of black dudes and EDW had a ton of white dudes. Every so often, a team like WSM plays up to their potential and can play with anyone in their class.
Westgate in New Iberia is similar.

The scheme we used against Bama

That happened in like 2012. I graduated right before then and we had plenty of good tape

Wasn't Acadiana a 32 seed a few years ago and went on a run?
Posted on 11/9/18 at 11:35 am to wizziko
They weren’t 32, they were like 27 or something. They used an inelligible player, only reason they were so low. East St. John had the unfortunate honor of getting them in round 1 and they got pummelled. Believe Acadiana either won state or made it to state.

This. Our team played kentwood in the quarterfinals a few years back and we had like a 10 minute scoring possession in the 1st quarter with this strategy because we knew we couldn’t match their speed. They scored nearly every time they got the ball so we only lost by like 14 instead of 40. Lol so it somewhat worked

Yeah, WSM had some sporadic talent and EDW wasn't the most impressive #1 seed ever or anything. They had no business losing that game, but WSM had some players.
