Here’s what we’re missing out on this year:

The Rose Bowl is losing its grip on relevancy.

3 of the 4 first round games are absolute trash.

This is not a good argument for this format.

The round of 8 would probably be good. Those games need to be on campus and not the trash bowl sites.

Disagree on that.

I think 3 of the 4 have a chance to be really good and if Ohio State is the fraud everyone on here says, then the 4th could be a dandy.

Are students still on most campuses on Dec 10? Even if they are, I would think they are neck deep in finals. Those games would be ugly in the midwest. And who is going to travel to a quarterfinal bowl game the week before Christmas? Maybe they would move some of this back into January?

So when they say 2024 is that next season or the following?

The higher seed having the choice of venue would be pretty awesome. Ohio State choosing to play in Indy and controlling 95% of the tickets would be a fun atmosphere.

The late era BCS had ir right. There was nothing wrong. We would be having Georgia v Michigan this year and it would be awesome and the bowl games would still be relevant.

Nobody in the world wants to see 9 shitty teams playing each other, only to get massively blown out by the the two teams that should have been in anyway.... Especially at the ruin of the CFB regular season, whichbis soundly the best and most meaningful in all of N American sports.

They have officially killed a once truly great spectacle.

Can we just go back to like the mid 2000s and just leave well enough alone

This includes conference expansion

3 sec teams and ohio st seems right for the final four

The sec haters won’t like this new format where they don’t get the benefit of bureaucracy

I mean, I guess they can breathe life back into some of these championship games by having 10th ranked Clemson, 11th ranked LSU, 12th ranked Utah, and 13th ranked K State trying to claw their way into the top 12. But, there will be so much fighting about whether teams ahead of them sitting at home this weekend should get in.

This.

I think these folks are banking on fans shelling out money to every round? I do not see that happening.
