The real bottleneck is going from position coach to coordinator, they could make that the Rooney rule and get rid of the current one and you’d see way more minorities as HCs within 5 or 6 years. Every owner is a sucker for the hot coordinator.

Definitely agreed on that. This current proposal is just insulting horse crap. Yours would be both much more effective and egalitarian.

Also why are Asian people considered people of color when some of them are as white as white people?

Honest question—does it have to be a “black” person, or just a person of “color?”
And would the following qualify as a person of color (since orange/red is a color last time I checked.)

Which shouldn’t count considering she married into money made by a white guy. They purchased the Bills together and she got the nameplate for it.

Because the term “person of color” is a leftist creation to try to create a unified front of minorities against whites. The only minorities I meet that like the term are very openly leftist.

In the areas I’ve volunteered in low-income blacks and Hispanics seem to hate each other.

I guess it's the NFL's fault that there aren't more minority billionaires wanting to buy a sports franchise?

you wanna talk about disproportionate representation, 30% of NFL teams are owned by a tiny minority that makes up less than 2% of the population, but it will never be mentioned. It will be "white man bad" for mot hiring coaches of color.

Of course. America is against racial discrimination. Mostly!!! But the rich write their own laws and economic discrimination runs rampant.

Economic discrimination is where mofos of whatever color who bust their asses, seize or create opportunities, and refuse to give up or ask for hand-outs or charity....have a distinct advantage over people who make excuses, are poorly educated despite the opportunity for education, have no personal accountability, will gladly accept a hand-out, and would prefer not to work at all vice work hard and grind..,and probably smoke weed, etc.

I don’t ever recall hearing anything that sounded remotely like The Rooney Rule in MLK’s “I have a Dream” speech.

So long as we are bickering about stuff like this, we will never be a color blind society. We probably never will be anyway, but Rooney Rule, quotas, and affirmative action are not helping.

There are plenty of awesome people of color who have succeeded without special rules. When they see a roadblock, they vow to plow through it.

The gent who made the point about the “hot Coordinator” has a point. Also, blame Sean McVeigh for evidently not having any minority friends.

What about the Mooney Rule to have more white players in the league?

What if they changed it so that it increased a teams salary cap or it forgave luxury tax. That way even more money would be distributed to the players. Seems like a win win.

Combine that with the suggestion that is applies to coordinators.

Do you really think that if the potential purchaser was a black man or woman the current owner and the NFL would actually refuse to take their money?

An arguement can be made for GMs and Coaches but Owners? Seriously?

Please enjoy a huge glass of Soy with your White Guilt.

Heck I think the NFL would give Oprah a massive discount to buy a team.

Looks like some sistahs need to take one for the team and seduce one of these old geezer white dudes into changing their will.

This is getting out of hand. Why is it that there isn’t a rule that not enough non-minorities are players?

The bottom line is that on the field the players that perform get signed. Why cant it be the same way on the sideline?
