So that’s not selling out though I’m not saying Montreal is the option. But I’m saying P.R. is not

Neither am i...im simply saying Montreal is NOT the option and was using San Juan....or Mexico City if you want, as an example of how even both of those markets are better than Montreal.

All 3 are shite

I don’t think there expand but if they did they’d move within the US

The players would prefer who could ever pay them the most It just so happens the bigger markets liken NY Boston and Chicago get the most of those (and TV deals) so they can pay their players the most PR wouldn’t be able to do that because they wouldn’t get the same corporate sponsorships as someone stated

You mean to tell me the Puerto Ricans in MLB wouldn't love a chance to go home and play for their home team? They would be an absolute juggernaut! I think there might be a home town discount if that happened...

No they’d rather play for the Yankees or Dodgers or other major MLB city with a high Hispanic population that can offer them the most money

Putting the Rays in PR would be just as they are in Tampa
A small market team that wouldn’t be able to pay anyone

Manfred said they are interested in going international...which is why we are having this conversation. There is this love affair with Montreal, when absolutely no metric supports them having another team.

The NFL said the same thing.

And instead moved two teams to LA

I just disagree with that notion completely. I would think there would absolutely be some Puerto Ricans who would give anything to play for a team in San Juan. Agree to disagree there.

Fair enough.

They’ll just need to have the payroll

Don’t think they will

It’s not like Cubans are knocking on the door to sign with the Marlins

Montreal, maybe Vancouver

Montreal has already shown it couldn’t support the Expos. Vancouver couldn’t keep the Grizzlies, why would MLB do any better?

Didn’t Khan heavily invest in improving the Jaguars facilities not long ago?
