RIP, if there was no Howard, they’d be no U

Would have thought his record was a lot better than 7 games over .500

Also saved Louisville from the brink of the whole football program being shutdown.
As a Kentucky fan he’s the one that got away. Former UK alum, timing was just never right though (we had Fran Curci about the time he headed to Miami).

If he never leaves Miami there’s no telling how many titles they have.

He built the U with that pipe going in the hood. They said he'd forget it on purpose. Just to go back. RIP.
It was riots back then too over how black folks were treated for "crossing the bridge". He had the balls to go against the grain and get the best of the best in Miami toughest hoods.

RIP Coach.
One of the legends.
(Even though Auburn was screwed out of the 1983 MNC. Can't blame Coach or the Canes...only the pollsters).

Spent 11 seasons at FAU (58-74) and 10 at Louisville (54-56-2)
Did not have good records there

Miami as a football program was dead. Miami would've been a Memphis or Tulane without Schnellenberger's "State of Miami" plan.

My first job in high school, my manager was a little Jewish woman from Miami. She used to tell great stories about her dad taking her to the Orange Bowl during the Schnellenberger era when she was a little girl. She thought "Schnell" was like a god.
RIP

He’s not eligible for the CFB HOF because of their dumb over 0.600 rule

I'm amazed that he was alive before this
