No matter his decision, he will regret his choice. I think he will regret missing his child being born a little les though, since he will have the rest of his life with his child.

Irrelevant IMO. I could not care less about seeing any of my children being born. The only purpose to be there, IMO, is to be with your SO while a medical event is occurring. If she's going to be fine, and there is something else that's really important, go do that other thing.

easy for you to say as a bama fan. I wouldn't find any joy from seeing my sister give birth to my kid either.

Yep. His contract to the organization and his teammates are huge. If he is a good father he will be there for kids life, which is what being a father is.

You don't think these guys have any contracts or obligations?

Phil Mickelson was prepared to leave a US Open he was leading to make it to the birth of his first born.

Hunter Mahan left a tournament he was leading last year to fly home for the birth of their child.

Idk why everyone thinks I'm trolling. Can someone please explain what's magical about the birth of their child?

And again, I wouldn't miss it for something small. Let's see, which would y'all pick...?

Funeral of family member or birth?
SB or birth?
HUGE event with your job or birth?
Stopping to help someone in serious trouble or birth?

To who? The have sponsors but they have no organization/players who rely on them. And golf/tennis does not come close to comparing to a team sport like football

Can they set up a sterile environment in the locker room?

Honestly, that's awesome for you. I just don't share that same idea with you. That memory would hold no value for me. Seeing him smile the first time his goofy arse colors inside the lines will give me more joy than seeing him during the birth.

Honestly, unless you're expecting your first born or have children you don't know what you're saying. It's a thing that changes your whole life, the way you look at life, everything.

And you'll notice I said "to that moment". His first time saying dad, walking, riding a bike, becoming potty trained, these moments are equal or higher since he was born.

Oh good, you were joking. Winning the master is a much bigger accomplishment than winning anything in football.

yeah but the team aspect of football means you have commitmments to your teammates. Masters, huge deal, but you don't owe anybody anything but yourself

As you just agreed earlier. Hunter Mahan was just going to work. But he left. Withdrew and didn't get paid.

If I won't get fired, birth.
Birth over death. One of these people is alive and will rely on you forever. One is dead.
I would stop at a horrible traffic accident on my way to the hospital until an ambulance got there, then I'm gone.

EXACTLY. That's what it's all about. That's how you show the love you have. It's how their life is molded. Birth? I don't give a shite other than helping my SO be comfortable.

Lives are made or ruined with the other stuff. The birth is literally irrelevant.
