I'd have someone in constant contact with her on the sideline giving me updates. If she went into labor, I'd be out. He was there for his first Super Bowl. He needs to be there for his first child.
Fist child > Second Super Bowl
The child is going to live a happy joyful live whether you're there to witness it getting pushed out.
Grow a sack of balls and stop being so beta. Play the game and tell your kid about it.
Loser.

The only reason people even care about this is because it's Richard Sherman. Athletes have missed the birth of their child for sports before.
Wasn't someone getting criticized recently for missing a few games and spending extra time with his newborn child?
Bunch of floundering pussies.
ETA: I would cut my father's balls off in his sleep if I found out he missed the superbowl for my birth. I still to this day don't know who was present during my birth, it doesn't even fricking get brought up.

Well Sherman and the Mrs. shouldn't have been having afternoon delights the first week of May last year….
She's not a Mrs.

I'm a loser for thinking being at the birth of your first child instead of playing in a game you've played before is more important?
If that's your definition of a loser or "beta" then I must be doing something right. Only a tool would say being there for your kid's birth is less important than a damn game.

I don't think I would even feel right if my dad skipped the Super Bowl for my birth. I would feel guilty about being born.

I would be legit upset if I found out my dad gave up a moment he worked that hard for, and left others that depended on him that worked that hard too

You simply don't get it. Don't you think he may have an hour or 2 after the SB to see his child.
God damn, your opinions suck arse

Sure I do. Being there for the birth of your first child is more important than playing in your second Super Bowl. If it was his first Super Bowl, I'd understand. But it's not.

Or a normal person would say damn my dad showed early on he will always be there for me. Something not many NFL dads do.

Not for your average NFL player.

Right. But I think it should be. I think people who would choose playing in a game they've played in before over being there for the birth of their first child don't have their priorities straight.

Right, you've made your point using slightly different words how many times now?

Several. Because morons call me a "loser" for having that opinion.

Let's be honest though, your average NFL player doesn't care about being an actual dad to their kids.

Not very good "family planning" at all. I expected better from the outstanding Stanford scholar ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconrolleyes.gif)

Its not about just playing a game. Its about not wanting to let down all of your brothers in the locker room when they need you most. Not letting down ?the millions of fans. By not being there for your child's birth will not make you a bad father at all

I'm pretty sure if I found out my dad missed playing in the Superbowl to be there for my birth I would go through life disappointed in him.
