What a great game that was. Still can’t get over Bush trying that lateral.

Another thing I noticed was how many hits would of been called for targeting nowadays. The NCAA should really go back to the old helmet to helmet contact penalty that was either intentional or unintentional.

2005 was just a good season overall. The best part was an undisputed championship game after about 5 consecutive years of BCS controversies.

Wasn’t Auburn 13-0 that season? I expect they’d dispute.

Mike Shula and Brodie Croyle-led Bama was the last undefeated team in a power conference that season aside from Texas and USC. Made it to 9-0 before JaMarcus sank them in OT and LSU fans French kissed in joy.

LSU was No. 3 until they got smacked by Georgia in the SEC CG.

2005-07 was a fun stretch in CFB.

Not that you need any evidence of Cush’s gear usage, but it’s funny to Google his name and “Westside for Skinny Bastards” to see pics of him as a scronny high school kid.

Vince Young definitely got away with having his knee down on the option TD. They rushed the extra point to avoid review so hard that they missed it lol

Yeah they definitely did. After rewatching this I’m convinced that 2 things cost USC this game. Bush’s lateral and going for that 4th and 1 and getting stuffed instead of taking the 3. If they get up either 17 -0 or 13-0, I don’t think Texas could recover from a start like that.

One of my favorites. I was still so obsessed with CFB then every Saturday was like Christmas Day. The build up of that Rose Bowl had me nervous just from anticipation and I didn't even have a horse in the race

Honk if you sacked Brodie.
