That'd be cool if we were talking about last year's playoff.

How many times does the Big 12 have to flop in the playoffs/BCSNCG before we accept that not all Power 5s are equal? Why are we allowed to assume things about group of 5s like the American and not the Big 12

If you are bringing up results from previous years that shows you have no argument.

We are talking about 2023, 2022 results are irrelevant to 2023 SOS rankings

So do "top 15" and "one-loss team."

But that's not slowing you down.

The majority of MSBers live in a fantasy world where the PAC and Big 12 not only belong in the same sentence as the SEC, but actually should be given deference over the SEC.

this is the definition of cherry picking stats to justify a stupid point.

It's pretty simple. It's four best teams, not best teams from the *best conference in 2009.

I don't think we should. You're barking up the wrong tree with that point.

Ok here’s one

The 2nd best team in the Big 12 got beat hosting South Alabama by 26, beat Central Arkansas by 14, and beat a god awful ASU team by 12

The 4th best team in the Big 12 lost to Ohio

It’s not a serious league. Yall know it but just don’t want to admit it

in other words you will use resume when it fits your narrative and disregard it it when it does not

Now we're pretending Oklahoma State is the second best team in the Big 12?

I have been told repeatedly that head to head is the deciding factor here

Looking at the resumes and not applying head to head tiebreaker rules, how would you rank Texas, Oregon, and Bama’s resumes if they all win this weekend?

So Texas is tied for the least amount of top 15 wins and has the worst lost, but they MUST get in? And they MUST get in because their loss to a two-loss team shouldn’t hurt as much as Bama’s loss to a one-loss team? Bama’s loss outweighs both Texas’ worst loss and the fact Bama has more top 15 wins? LOL

Who was it Bama lost to again?

I can't believe it worked.

Dang. If only these two teams could decide it on the field and see who is really better.

If everyone did this with honesty, Bama would be ranked highest 90%+ of the time. When that happens, the resumes wouldn’t be “too close to call therefore go to H2H tiebreaker.”

The issue is that people want to immediately jump to the “tiebreaker” without first giving an honest assessment of the strength of resumes and determine whether we should even go to the tiebreaker.

Wow those resumes are impressive. It’s just such a shame that we have to do these abstract analyses because these teams didn’t play each other in the regular season. Really unfortunate that we don’t have any concrete results on the field that might help us figure this out. Tough break.

IDK, how many times do we have to explain to you that what happened last year, let alone 5-10 years ago is irrelevant to who the best teams are this year?

I know marginal differences is a concept you can’t understand but there is a clear drop off in talent and quality however it does vary from year to year. In 2021 the AAC MW and Sun Belt ranked ahead of the Pac 12. Last year the Pac12 was 5, this year it’s 2.
Also conferences don’t play games, teams do.
