It's going to happen in Fayetteville this year unless the Hawgs win 8 games, which is a lot given their brutal schedule:

What would change if Sam was fired and replaced by him? He completely runs and recruits the offense and is also helping Sam in game decisions. Nothing would change other than him having to pick up a good deal more of responsibility that he says he’s glad he doesn’t have anymore. But you never know around here.

It's bizarre how insular the pool of NFL head coaches are.

There are guys who have been fired from 3 different teams getting hired by a 4th team.

I think NFL head coach is one of the most demanding and unusual jobs out there. As someone who has been worried about someone in a different field acclimating to my business, I can only imagine how difficult that is to project for owners and GMs. The retreads aren't home runs, but they also aren't the dumpster fires who turn to drinking because the job is just too dang stressful and confusing.

Funny thing is that I think college football is becoming more difficult than NFL at the moment, which is really messing with the economics of it all. One of the reasons, college teams have had to add the GM role for handling NIL/recruiting.

Glen was the Stars coach when they were being controlled by the banks. He really wasn't given much of a chance to succeed

Very few legitimate candidates wanted the job at the time, and the Stars were limited in who they could hire. GG was a very successful coach in the Stars minor league system.

He was a cheap placeholder coach with a lot of upside and familiar with the organization. He was ok, but the new ownership wanted their own guy.

Greg Schiano is on his second stint coaching Rutgers football.

He left Rutgers for the NFL, he wasn’t fired there.

I know the Ducks did it with another coach they had awhile back.

Ducks hired Joel Queneville who "resigned" from the Panthers after it came out that he covered up sexual assault.

Listen bro for a second. I'm a die hard LSU fan (like many here.) Arkansas HAS the money and resources to make the right hire. Unfortunately, those in power are very awful at making those decisions. Make Clark Lea , CUM, or most of all Rhett Lashlee say no. Pittman is too much of nice guy, and a good position coach, thats it. Arkansas can be closer than many think. Auburn, and Ole Miss will fall way behind, IF Arkansas can get it right. They've always been close.

You’re preaching to the choir, but I’m not going to pull for my team to lose just to fire Sam, pay him off, and pay bank for similar results if the program ain’t going to fork out the money.

I see basketball and baseball talked about more on podcasts than football. The higher ups don’t seem willing to sacrifice anything for football anymore.

Our schedule this year is brutal as usual so I think we all know what to expect.

His hire had me all mixed up. I never liked the guy dating back to his Memphis state time and didn’t like the freshman all star method he used. He’s changing his philosophy now with the portal so we’ll see how it pans out.

Billy Martin would get fired and rehired by Steinbrenner on an irregular basis.
