Usually the dominant college football broadcast of the fall, the SEC on CBS suffered a fourth-straight decline last weekend.
CFB Week 5: SEC on CBS Down For Fourth Straight Week
Georgia-Tennessee had a 2.4 rating and 4.0 million viewers on CBS Saturday, down a tick in ratings and 6% in viewership from the same matchup last year, which the Volunteers won on a Hail Mary (2.5, 4.2M), and down 43% and 44% respectively from Alabama-Georgia in 2015 (4.2, 7.0M).
All four SEC on CBS telecasts have declined from last year. Keep in mind the games have not exactly been close.

The MSB is always concerned about the NFL ratings, so I figured let's change it up a bit.

Teams are garbage. There hasn't been a matchup that I just had to watch and I usually watch every game.

Probably because the SEC is horrible this year

Lack of quality games. Most of the CBS games have been blowouts.

Because they keep airing Tennessee’s trash arse team.

I hope the guy who made the decision to choose that game because Bama got fired. They could have had aTm/Arkansas that day.

The SEC is terrible outside of Alabama and maybe Georgia. No one wants to watch Butch Jones coach against Jim McElwain.

Mac's patheticness at Florida has been a surprise. I mean I knew he probably couldn't recruit, but he was good at X's and O's at CSU.

The SEC is way down this year and fan interest has fallen off.
The CBS games have been horrible (59-0 and 41-0).
Outside of Bama, UGA, and Auburn there's almost 0 excitement for football in SEC country this year.

I know it’s a joke and what not but Saban actually has somewhat killed this league. Just going back 2 seasons+, there was parity.
Now there’s none. For all of the 21st century there were 4-5+ teams you at least felt like had a shot.
Now there’s 2 and let’s be honest, Georgia ain’t beating Bama.
Tip of the hat to Saban. He’s been too good in some ways. That’s dominance.

They will one day, but damn this year, bama looks better than I've seen in a long time.
Their second string QB could be all SEC

Birmingham is consistently on top of the ratings for CFB and Bama is the top team currently in the SEC, that’s why they chose that game.
