I don't think it's crazy to say Dr. J over Kobe, but they're 1a and 1b

If you are looking at only NBA careers, it actually is. Kobe has played at a higher level for a longer time in the NBA.

Dr. J was a god in the ABA and a Hall of Famer in the NBA, but he is not at Kobe's level in the NBA. Do not forget that Dr. J played in an era with a faster pace, so there were more plays per game.

Top five on that list IMO:

Kobe
West
Erving
Baylor
Stockton

Jerry West is chronically underrated.

Ok, tell me how that sounds hilariously false? West is by far a better playoff and Finals performer and a better all around player. Baylor was horribly inefficient player who gave West nightmares and shot LA out numerous games and title opportunities.

If there is one player that could be ahead of Kobe on this list, it is Jerry West.

You guys arguing Erving are just going on hype. Jerry West has a case to maybe one of the ten best players ever. There is no way Dr. J is top ten all time.

Sample top 10 (the order is only a rough approximation):

Jordan
Kareem
Lebron
Wilt
Magic
Kobe
Bird
Russell
Shaq
West

I would put Duncan, Hakeem, and Oscar Robertson in before I even considered Dr. J. Also, Durant will be finding his way near or on this list in the future.

in case you were too stupid to comprehend, the wasnt at West ahead of Baylor, it was at West ahead of Kobe and having Baylor next to last behind Cousy, Wilkins, and Havlicheck

Which is why the list STARTS with Kobe, period.
you said it yourself, West might be a top ten player. Kobe IS, without question.
