Wouldn't that, coupled with Giannis improving at a fantastic rate, only bolster my argument?

Nah, I think it supports the argument of let's see Giannis do it for more than 1 season before we give him AD status IMO.

For reference, Giannis's PER this season is lower than AD's career avg. That's just 1 metric, but you get the idea.

I think he's been passed up by Wall, Giannis and others. Still a great player but those guys, IMO are better.

Admittedly I am pretty high on Wall.

I think there's still a sizable gap between the 2, whether it's just watching or looking at their productivity/efficiency.

And I think Paul is better/smarter by a decent bit defensively, where you wouldn't really see it show up looking at stats.

there really isn't an argument to be made that he's better than Kawhi.

you guys crack me up. Who has 2 MVPs and who was the best player on the best regular season team in the history of the NBA? Who was the best player on a championship team? I mean if you wanna believe Kawhi is better than go right ahead but you're wrong. To say there isn't an arguement shows that you don't know basketball.

If I told you before the start of the playoffs we're drafting teams for these playoffs, no one in their right mind is taking Irving before Chris Paul.

James
Leonard
Durant
Curry
Westbrook
Harden
Antetokounmpo
Isiah Thomas
Draymond Green
Butler's defense wins out over Kyrie and Wall.

Paul George is afraid of the ball in clutch time.

Anthony Davis cant stay healthy.

CP3 and Blake Griffin choke/injured every year.

Cousins is a prick.

Interesting take here. I'm not sure what John Wall does better than Chris Paul. The advanced stats agree, as CP3 even beats him in the counting stats despite playing 17 less games.

Healthy? I believe NOP had the 3rd most games missed due to injury this season

AD was healthy all year. That should be enough.
They won 45 games in '15 with the same team and more injuries than the '16 team that won 30 games, and continued their shitty record this year with a healthy AD all year.
He just hasn't taken that step to superstardom like most expected after that '15 season. If he had, we'd be playing right now.

Paul is better than Wall by a sizable margin.

AD stayed healthy this season though. He played 75 games and sat out a few toward the end without injury.

I said it after 2015 on here, there was no way he'd improve upon those numbers. It was one of the greatest statistical seasons we've ever seen, you can't expect a guy to improve on a 30.8 PER.

His numbers this season are fantastic.

I know the point you're trying to make but I think you gotta give a guy to about 25 years old or so before we start using the no playoffs argument IMO.

What has CP3 ever done in the playoffs besides choke or get injured?
