Is it there for the sole reason that everyone hates posters who constantly obsess on soccer and spread their pompous, smug view of American sports?

Why no basketball or baseball or hockey board?

They do not play well with others?

Quite the opposite.
Some people have an irrational hatred for soccer and the fans, and will mask their lack of understanding of the beautiful game with mockery.

Pretty sure was started due to wc and has a pretty strong group of posters. It offers something to this site that likely quite a few do not have.

They would ruin the MSB without it.

Most, like me, are fans of other sports also. I'm a bigger football fan than soccer fan.

Before the SB, people on the MSB complained a lot about the amount of soccer threads. Just made sense to create its own board.

One thing is the number of leagues and players in soccer, and all the different domestic and international tournaments, make soccer as a sport really dwarf other sports. And it goes on all year. There really isn't much of an offseason for soccer.

I just wish they'd keep kickyball threads relegated to that board since there's an entire board dedicated to that "sport".

"sport"

You may not enjoy it, but to somehow insinuate that a sport that requires the abilities of a professional soccer player isn't in fact a sport is just stupid.

When was the last time a soccer thread was started here by someone who's been on the site more than a week. Please show me.

The answer is yes, the soccer board is awesome and populated with the manliest men and most beautiful women on TD.com.

Thanks for your inquiry.

I love how mad kickball girls get when someone says the slightest negative thing about their hobby. It's amusing.

mask their lack of understanding

Yeah, there's so much to understand. Shite we all grew up playing soccer, and we're still hearing this nonsense from Soccer fans against people who just don't happen to like the sport..."you don't understand it."

Yeah, because it's so much more complicated than American sport...

And as if understanding it would make it immune from dislike - as if it's impossible to understand soccer and dislike it.

... we can't fathom the intricate brilliance of footy - American football is #1 in this country - but I guess that's a dumb sport and not much to learn because we are all so dumb...we can understand the extreme detail of American football but can't understand soccer.

Same tired tune from your crowd.

Soccer in America is the art house movie snob version of sports.
