Don’t be silly
You should replace two with Ohio State and Oregon

Why would you think it’s being handed something on a silver platter if you think Alabama is better than both?
Dude
They don’t care about who is better, or who is the best
They don’t care about anything more than Bama being left out, because they know Bama actually had a shot.

Don't lose to a shitty OU team by 2+ possessions then

Arguably, those 12 teams (plus four more) had a playoff over the course of the season for an opportunity to get into the 12 team end of the year tournament.
FWIW, I think the SEC absolutely needs
To go back to division play. I don’t care if it’s with 4 four-team pods that rotate or not, but you need to be competing within the league against teams with an equal schedule.
If even go so far as to say if you did that, let week 15 of the season be each SEC teams 8th game, where you match the 1 vs 2 cross division, and everyone else plays a scheduled cross division game. (Ie fill ins as necessary)

Don’t lose to two 6-6 teams and you are in.

A shot at what?

At the end of the day you can’t leave it up to a committee. Bama got smoked by Oklahoma. They had everything on the line and played their worst game. SMU went 11-2 losing in the closing seconds in the conference championship game. The committee didn’t get it wrong. Who ended up with Byes was wrong.

Don’t lose to shite teams! 3 points against Oklahoma? Notre Dame and Penn St could have easily embarrassed Bama as well.

"With 12 teams it won't matter if you lose."
Also;
"I don't care if Bama lost three games, they should be in!"

If that was the case, you would have had no problem with Bama getting in

No, I have a problem with them getting in, because they lost 3 games. And only 1 of them was to a good team. No more getting in on your name. frick Bama.

Because at the end of the day you still have to play the games and earn your way in.
And the truth of Bama’s season is that yes, they played a tough schedule - but you can only directly attribute ONE of their three losses to that (Tennessee).
Alabama was 3-2 vs teams with a .500 or worse schedule. That’s why they’re not in the playoffs and why they absolutely should not be.

Absolutely correct.

Wrong. It was decided before the season that the four highest rated conference champs would get byes. So, unless you think Clemson should have gotten the bye, the committee did what it was supposed to there.

I didn’t argue for putting Alabama in.
My question to that poster is valid, imo.

For the committee to say “well Alabama,
we looked at your season and you had three losses, including two that were very bad…but you had some very highly ranked recruits and some NFL prospects….and you played and awesome first quarter against UGA, and pounded poor LSU…plus you get good TV ratings….and we think you’re probably better even though your on field results don’t show it…”
That would absolutely be putting Alabama on a silver platter.
I’ll add two things regarding that:
#1 but for Clemson’s upset of USC, Alabama would have been in…so the committee absolutely had them on that platter
#2 - per the committees own started metrics,
With no h2h and a negligible difference in SOS, the comparison between Bama and Ole Miss should have come down to “outcomes vs Common opponent. Ole Miss and Bama were 3-1 vs common opponents, with Ole Miss having superior results in 3 of the 4 cases. Yet, the committees eye test Bama-bias BS caused them to have Bama ahead.
