If anything they are underpaid as US pro sports leagues operate as monopolies and artificially suppress wages.

In Europe, where leagues have to compete with their counterparts in other nearby nations, players generally make over 80% of the total revenues. In the US it’s at or below 50%

Please explain “too little” for star players… there is no way that Mahommes is worth 1/2 billion….

Hed be making way more than he does now if he was in a true free market with 32 billionaires wanting him to play for their team.

So where should that money go? If these leagues weren't pulling in all this of money, the players wouldn't be getting paid as much. Its very simple

Now if they really want to be WOKE and talk about social injustices...They should put a CAP of yearly earnings...

Examples:

Any player in the NFL/NBA/MLB etc, that is paid over $10MM year (league pay and Endorsements), should be capped at $10MM and any $$ over that amount should fund Social Programs and League players that make significantly less than them..

Put your $$ where your mouth is

Anyone agree? God given talent but millions is too much. Makes everything around it monetized. Like NFL Sunday Ticket. MLB extra innings. Or just listening to a broadcast on the mlb app. If you're a true NFL junkie you can spend thousands of dollars on sports a year.

It's the American way. What do the best of the best of the Hollywood stars make these days? 30 mil, 40 mil for a picture? Entertainment is expensive and why should all the movie moguls and team owners make the Billions?

The simple truth is, if players were paid less, the owners would be in no hurry to pass the savings on to the consumer. The last thing greed is, is reasonable.

I'm just trying to keep up with the WOKE Liberals and SJ warriors!

I mean....Doesn't the left always talk about people making more than $5MM and don't need that much money a year? Need to be TAXED MORE

WOKE athletes constantly yelling/posting/kneeling/wearing apparel for SJ and "socialism"...there ya go

HELL, it could help Megan Rapinoe with her "woman sports are underpaid" argument..as this could bring them up in pay and at the same time fund all the SJ they want! WINNING!!!

Trout is the best player in baseball. His lifetime average is .305 and is hitting 0.333 this year

People agree because they feel it’s “unfair someone could be busting their arse off” but still never make close to someone playing a hobby.

I remember my HS English teacher arguing that^. Even back then it didn’t make any sense to me how those billions generated by privately owned sports teams would somehow wind up in the pockets of teachers, firefighters, and scientists.

It’s also weird how people seem to go after athletes for making “too much” money but musicians and actors don’t get targeted by that same argument nearly as much.

Owners aren't losing money. But obviously no one is buying a sports franchise that isn't already filthy rich
