ND's problem is they're also stuck to the ACC's media rights deal until 2036.

True. Notre Dame needs to become full ACC members and quit fricking around. ACC should’ve held their feet to the fire when they had the chance.

I bet there is an easy out for ND in that k

Yeah it's called paying $100 million and the ACC still retaining their media rights.

ND only has to pay the exit for non revenue sports if they were to leave the ACC. That would be peanuts compared to the Maryland for instance paid the ACC.

Apparently part of the deal is if football joins a conference before 2036 then it has to be the ACC.

Big 12- Lose West Virginia -Poach 5 PAC 12 teams = 16 teams

PAC- Poach best from Big 12. Add Boise St? = 16 teams

I think it all depends on the validity of the Washington and Oregon rumors.

If they also leave for the Big10, then the PAC is ripe for the Big12 to pick off a few schools, especially Arizona and Arizona St.

If only USC and UCLA depart the Pac-12, then the conference might be a better long term solution for schools like Kansas, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech.

Idk how this all shakes out, but as a general fan of CFB aside from my own team/school. This sucks.

yes a lot traditions will be gone and it does suck for the sport in general. But I think this is on the right path for a better product every weekend and most importantly breaking away from the NCAA and actually having some type of commissioner with rules to put everybody on the same playing field. Could go on but in the long run better product and more parity

It seems like every time there’s a rumor about a school jumping conferences, there’s also a counter rumor that it’s not possible because of state laws, state legislatures, or state constitutions.

UT-A&M
OU-OSU
KU-KSU
UW-Wazzou
UNC-NC St.
Oregon-Oregon St
UCLA-Cal-Berkeley

I wonder how many are legitimate, or how many are simply rumors?

I don't know about the others but I believe there is some legitimacy to that notion as it pertains to VT and UVA.

When money is all that matters why the shite would anything you listed matter?

Prestigious school?

Baseball champion?

Dude get lost. MONEY MONEY MONEY.

Why even hang onto the ankles of the better football teams’ screaming “bit we’re a private school!!?”

Just get out of here already.

This is the new landscape and it’s better.

Some of these like UCLA/Cal and the North Carolina schools have the same board. So there could be some truth to it. I'm sure it'll all be ironed out. These moves wouldn't have been made if it all wasn't cleared beforehand.
