Playoff of teams that finished #2 since 2000, NCAA-FBS

2. 2005 USC
3. 2011 LSU
4. 2008 OU
The bracket would use:
2000 Florida State @ 2014 Oregon
Winner Plays 2002 Miami
2007 Missouri @ 2016 Alabama
Winner plays OU
2021 Michigan @ 2019 Clemson
Winner plays USC
2022 TCU @ 2015 Ohio St
Winner plays LSU
How do you adjust it, or what teams would you take out? The only rule is a university cannot be represented more than once.

I would say either 2018 or 2021 Alabama over 2016.
Tua and Bryce as the starting QBs over a freshman Jalen Hurts.
ETA: 2021 Alabama smoked national title winner Georgia in the SEC Championship Game with a healthy John Merchie and Jameson Williams.

That was my upvote because I think that's probably good call
this could be picked apart to death in coming up with the teams that make this playoff
But it wouldn't be college football or if there were nitpicking about who actually makes the playoffs
it's an interesting concept I don't see how 2005 USC does it win it but it's an interesting concept I like it

Pete would throw into traffic instead of handing off to Beastmode at the goal line, or would take Reggie Bush off the field so the defense can key on LenDale White. Thereby costing them a chance to put the game away.
We have a shot at a game winning drive and appear to run out of time but Southern Cal gets confused and puts 13 players on the field and we score the winning touchdown on the untimed down.

What does that say about the 13 teams that they kicked the shite out of that season? Lots of “good” teams in there.
@ #2 Alabama, #16 Georgia SECCG, #3 Arkansas, #3 Oregon to open the year at a neutral site, @ #25 MS ST, @ #16 WVU, #17 Florida, #20 Auburn. The only team they beat by less than 10 was Alabama. Beat the other 10 power 5 teams by a combined score of 400-119 if I did my math right. Gonna be pretty close that if not. Beat the national champion, Big East champ/Orange bowl winner, Pac12 champ/Rose bowl winner, and like 5 other opponents that were over .500 and won their bowl games.
I think people forget just how damn good that team was because of how incredibly shite they looked in the championship game. Thing is, Alabama was just as talented as LSU and was better coached.
That Alabama team was kicking the shite out of everybody else just as bad. They beat every team but the LSU loss by 16 or more. Only 2 other teams stayed within 20.
I guarantee that 2011 LSU team would match up with and beat A BUNCH of the really good teams from over the years since 2000, including 10 or so champions at minimum.

Evidently with the teams you're using they don't have to have finished #2 or been the runner up of the title game. And if you can't use the same program twice, then:
2022 TCU is probably #3 of the TCU teams I'd use. 2014 > 2010 > 2022
2007 Mizzou I'd probably take out. Put 2001 Florida in there or 2004 Auburn.
I do agree 2014 Oregon > 2010 Oregon but just wanted to mention them because it's close, but I'm taking Mariota over Thomas
For Bama, honestly I'd take the 2013 team over 2016, or even the 2018 team as well.

That 08 USC defense was nasty, the 05 defense was a liability in the natty and nearly cost them regular season games too. The 08 defense would never give up 40+ to Fresno.
