Walton
Draymond Green
Wade
Kareem

And now Morant

Why isn’t the kid not considered the #1 pick?

This triple double talk has gotten out of hand. It's a great stat, but doesn't auto qualify you as the best player.

IMHO, Morant will make a major impact in the NBA then Zion. Morant’s vision and his passing skills are incredible. He is a gamer.

Maybe Morant will be a more level headed Westbrook.

But he ain't going to sell tickets like Zion.

Show me the GM that has the 1st pick and dosen't take Zion and I will show you a man looking for a job.

I hope to hell the Pels can land Morant somehow. I am so impressed by the way he plays.

Say the Hawks or Cavs get the 2nd pick.

Do they take Morant?

I would rather the Mavs draw pick 2 than one (both unlikely lol) solely so they could take Morant and not have to deal with the shitstorm of not taking Zion.

well for the 2nd part he means

He will make a major impact, and then Zion will.

He must already know the schedules.

Phoenix plays before NY next year.

You don't think they'd take Zion at one?

He's awesome, and he's like 60x better than RJ Barrett. But Zion is a generational athlete. He's a year younger. He has played against more NBA players than Morant has. Go look at his stat lines from the ACC Tourney. He's absurdly efficient.

Morant might end up being the better player, but it's not hard to see why someone would consider Zion the top pick.

ETA: The other thing to consider is Zion is more box office. Also, every team picking at the top probably has other plans.

PHX will likely look to add a vet to win more next year. Atlanta has Trae. Cleveland took Sexton and he came on strong. NY isn't passing up Zion. Chicago isn't passing up Zion.

I would hope not.

I will get rocked for this opinion, but I think Zion was born 6-7 years too late in regards to how soft the game has gotten and also the way the league prioritizes the three-ball. He is a physical specimen, but his mid-range game is average at best and I don’t see him being a 30% 3-point guy in the league. He will be an All-Star and a great player, but I don’t see him being anything more than Blake Griffin in terms of production (which is not a bad thing, Blake was a top 10 player at one time)

The recipe for success in today’s NBA is stretching the court and having 7 footers at the 4/5 who can shoot from anywhere. Dallas knows this, Dirk is the prime example and it’s another reason they went after Porzingis. I don’t think the piece we are missing is a tweener 3/4 guy who can’t shoot the deep ball consistently.

This is why we’ve been linked to Kemba and Klay in FA (Both Probably wont happen, but linked nonetheless).

Morant fits what Dallas needs, at least imo, more than Zion.

I'm not saying he won't improve, but you do realize one of the primary concerns with Morant is he hasn't shot the three ball particularly well, right?

You're having to hope he develops that like Fox.
