Figured it’s still the 5th biggest tournament even with some of the players missing so I’d put it here. If it gets relegated to the golf board so be it.

Rory off to a good start at -4 thru 6 (started on back 9).

Course is super soft and adorable early. Hopefully it can firm up as the week goes on.

smylie said on his podcast that the greens are the softest he has ever seen them, so he predicted the course record being broken.

Didn’t sound like Spieth or Hovland were too eager to confirm Rory could drop farther down the fairway

Hovland has also been pretty adamant in the past when he thought something didn’t cross the same place the player did.

Rory still dropped about 290 yards away. I thought it was pretty fair.

Went yesterday to the practice round with my two sons. The course looked beautiful and it was a great day to just walk around and enjoy watching the players hit at the different holes and watch the caddie competition on the 17TH hole. I usually skip the weekends of the players due to heavy traffic and it being crowded. Love that I am so close to it out here. Btw we almost got our heads taken off by a Ricky Flower tee shot at 9th hole. Missed us by about 15 feet as we watched along the hole about 270 yards up the hole. These are called memories folks

Hovland seems like a huge prick at times. Rory went into the water again at 7 and it looked obvious as hell the ball bounced on land above the red line. Vik stopped Rory and had an 8 minute delay discussion the drop

Hovland screwed Rory out of about 35 yards easily

Here is the damn ball after it bounced on the lane

Saw something about this on a scores update. I am stuck at work so I missed that. My two neighbors around me go every year for the entire tournament. I am sure they will give me their take when i get home from work today.

PGA Tour Twitter account posted the full 8 minutes of it, so you can watch it whenever you get the chance.

To be fair, it was… a huge advantage by playing in the morning groups.

It is so nice here today. Going over tomorrow. The greens should get a little tougher as the week goes but not much wind at all and. We had about 2.5 inches on Saturday so that is 5-6 days ago.

Not trying to be an arse but, from that view, how is it obvious as hell, that the ball landed above the red line?

The ball bounced over 10 feet in the air and it bounced twice. It’s physically impossible to do that if it bounces left of the red line

The angle of the slope left of the line would have it shoot sideways into the water

Gif below. It’s a ball drawing hard left. It it hits below the red line, a hard sloping left portion of land next to the water, it’s impossible the ball jumps this high.
