I'm an active tennis player. Some guys in my office started playing pickleball.

I had a good time beating them in pickleball this week. They are all 20-25 years younger than I am. They weren't happy t

I still rather tennis, but it was a nice change. Maybe it will help my volley game.

I love pickleball. Had to stop playing tennis years ago due to a shoulder injury. Pickleball fills the void nicely. I enjoy it more due to the social aspect of it.

Pickleball crowd is pretty bizarre. I play lots of tennis and when I beat 90% of pickleballers first day I walked on that court some of them were bonkers offended. I just stay away from them now.

Any competitive tennis player hates to hear a new friend or acquaintance say those dreaded words, "let's go play sometime" because they are almost always going to suck. Pickleball decreases that talent gap to a point where even if you're obviously better, a person with an adequate amount of eye hand coordination can still give you good points.

Hey, it beats "Cornhole". At least you're getting some exercise out of it.

And no, I've never participated in either of the above.

So you beat pickleballers the first day you walked on the court? Yeah right, lol. I play with plenty ex tennis players and there is a transition period before there are beating pickleballers.

This. Tennis is more fun if you have time to commit to it. Pickleball is easy to pick up a level of competence.

it's pickleball, not golf.

So much fun that you are losing court space and younger players to the great game of pickleball. Tennis players are jealous and see the writing on the wall that their sport is fading fast. Even the old tennis stars are now avid pickleball players and many areas are seeing their tennis courts being refitted to serve the pickleball community.

Tennis players looking down on pickleball is comical. Star Wars v. Star Trek. All of us are just trying to stay active and almost none of us are really great (or even good) athletes anymore. Mercifully, most don’t take it to the level of internet message board posting/bragging about how great one is versus the other, though.

Timely thread as I’m going to be playing soon for the first time since middle school PE.

What are the rules? Is scoring like tennis? Ping pong? There’s something about a kitchen?

Yes, I did. If you are an average serve and volley tennis player that translates very well to pickleball. Sorry all of your tennis friends are “transitioning “.

Here in Slidell - We have 8 tennis courts on one side of town and 12 pickleball courts on the other.

Pickleball gave me plantar fasciatis.

I'll stick to my recliner and cold beers.

Pickleball is for those that suck at tennis or just lazy.
