I wonder if they'll throw in Domonic Brown if the Astros include Berkman
Not a chance in hell. He went 2-3 last night in his major league debut.

Edit: Although I agree they should try and get something heck anything for him.

Phillies get:

Vance Worley
Two additional minor league pitchers

The Astros better get a bat. If not, this trade is worthless.

Oh I know... just hoping the Astros could get something for Berkman as well from someone. A few teams that were talking Fielder or Dunn might be interested in him if the price tag was cheaper than the other two.
Now you're thinking. That makes perfect sense. But, the meathead Astro fan would pitch a hissy fit that they TRAYDED OWER TECKSAZ SSTud!!!//one

What that means is that there could be fan backlash. Same thing goes on in Chicago where the meatheads clamor for Theriot, when in reality his just shitty and not a smart player at all. Except that Berkman is still a solid player, but you see what I mean.

Anyway, don't you think it's funny when you hear about this Brown guy hitting over .320 with 20 jimmy jacks and he shows up to the bigs and is no bigger than a common Felix Pie? I just expected him to look like Canseco, but blacker.

Great trade for the astros. Get a guy as good as oswalt for 1/15 the price (no flame) + prospects. What's going on with the astros making a good trade (maybe a little flame)?

There would definitely be some backlash, but the owner/GM needs to do what's right for the future, not appease fans now. It's not like Berkman is quite in the Bagwell/Biggio range of inconceivable that he's not an Astro. Any smart fan (yeah, I know we're talking Houston) would rather some hope for the future. At least, I hope so.

I didn't see the highlights or anything... is he more like a Soriano build?

He's 6'5" 200lbs. And has the oddest batting stance.

nah, the Astros need prospects, I'd rather have pitchers, hitters are easy to get as free agents if you need bats and are a contender.

He's gonna be a beast, just needs to bulk-up..his hands were extremely quick.

Wait til you see his stance, it's like a gust of wind could make him fall on his back

Why am I the only one that's not that excited about Happ ? He's 28 in October. And the Astros are still a good 4-5 years from being a division contender.

I'm of the opinion we need to do what the Reds. Just accumulate young guys and hopefully in 5 years we are contending again.

I guess he'd be 32-33 but is Happ really capable of being the Ace of the staff ?

As much as it pains me to say, I hope we trade Berkman as well.

And I think we could get something for Bourne too. Teams always need speed and he's great in the field and stealing bases.

Happ and Worley don't excite me at all. I hope they can get someone with more upside.

Happ is a #3 type starter and is 4 years younger and much cheaper than Oswalt.

Oswalt is at best a #2 starter now and maybe a 3 on some teams. He is on the downside of his career.

I hope this Worley guy isn't another Brandon Duckworth or Zeke Astacio.

Singleton is so young is hard to predict if he translates to big leagues but he's at least 2 full minor league seasons away.

94 mph fastball and a 72 mph curve in October is not a number 3 guy. A very very very good number 2 yes. But number 3 is a slap in the face to Roy
