Maybe this is a minority opinion but the 9th green might be the ugliest shaped green I have ever seen. Here's a tip for all of you would be golf course architects in the audience. Don't use an etch-a-sketch to design a golf course.

Jim Nantz talking about Dustin Johnson on the first tee:
“Not sure if you had a chance to see it, but he was the winner last week in Tulsa.”

seems like this is going to turn into US open type of a bomb it as far as you can cause everyone will be in the rough

Based on the course and conditions (of the roughs especially), my prediction is that one of the top fairways in regulation guys will win it. So that would mean Morikawa, Kim, or Henley.
DeChambeau finna struggle
Last part of my post not aging well on day 1.

This Wright Thompson shite needs to end. It is the most try hard garbage I've ever heard. And his voice sounds like pea gravel.

Bryson post round interview
Dude is crazy, I can’t imagine the shite going through his mind on the course.

Nance is super salty. I forgot what his petty jab about Phil was at the Masters. One of the best in the business though. I love when him and Van Pelt are on the same broadcast. I miss Johnny Miller.

I kind of disagree with that. Fairways are wider here.

I've seen so many missed three and four foot putts today I feel like I am watching a "The Worst of Fred Couples in the Majors" compilation tape.

Hatten six over through seven holes. I can't wait for his review of the course today.

Is Michael Eaves the Great Value Brand Mike Tirico?

No one is going to beat this course four straight days. The winner is going to shoot something like 68-68-69 for three rounds and then have one round where they shoot a 71 or 72 but should have shot a 74 or 75. (Basically McElroy's round today)

You're thinking -3 or 4 can win it? Probably depends on the weather.
Posted on 5/18/23 at 6:26 pm to dukke v
I was thinking more like -5 or -6. Point is whichever one of the contenders has the best bad round is going to be just as important as which one has the best good round.

They've done a great job of setting this course up. The fairways are tight and the rough is thick but it's still playable. I expect the greens to not be as receptive on Sunday as they are now.
