For those thinking JoePa did enough by informing his superiors, and not immediately informing the cops or demanding Mcqueary inform them...serious question....
What if Mcqueary had walked in on Sandusky slitting a little boys throat? He then chooses not to inform the cops but inform JoePa, what should JoePa have done?

He would have told on Sandusky then he'd say hi to him in the hallway everyday for the next 13 years.

Pedophiles destroy everyone around them.
Joe Paterno was someone a lot of people admired (including me) and he completely blew up his reputation and legacy -- for what -- to protect some pedo?

I figured you'd find it funny.

I'm not one who thinks he should get canned after 60+ years of good he did when the bad he did is follow the legal system in place. The things he has done for the sport and the university far far far far outweigh this IMO.
this is pretty much whats wrong with this country. This asswipe picks football achievements over a kid getting raped.
nice, way to be a stand up guy.

Has anyone posted "8 year olds dude" yet?

Don't know why people are still defending JoPa if he doesn't need it. This is a situation that he, along with McQueary and whoever else they informed...created. No one else. It is what it is and sadly, will probably be how JoPa is remembered. All it would have taken is for him to go to the proper authorities which we are all taught to do.

At first I didn't think Joe should go, but after a day of thinking about it and reading about it I've changed my mind. The biggest issue I keep coming back to is that once he told the AD, nothing seemed to happen with it and he didn't pursue the issue any further. I feel like he did the right and smart thing initially then just accepted whatever shitty line of bull shite the AD fed him.
Thank you. That is the point of Joe Pa's and McQueary's culpability in all this. They knew nothing had happened after sharing what happened and even let things slide while SandyMan is still allowed on campus using facilities for himself. Also, knowing this monster is using a foundation and camp as his buffet of kids. Sorry NO pass for Joe or the GA/Now asst.

It seems as if The University Police did a pretty bang up job as well. The whole university and everyone involved can rot for all I fricking care. Tear it all down and build something new.

I'm getting in late here, but where is the pitchfork manhunt for this McQueary guy, who SAW the guy raping a kid and all he does is tell Joe Paterno?!?!?! I sincerely hope that this guy is so racked with guilt that he no-parachute base jumps off a cliff. The ONLY reason he didn't tell the cops is because he knew that it would make the news and make his school look bad...there is no other conceivable explanation. Seriously, when the flash-torchmob is created to hunt this bitch down, sign me up.

How did all of this come up after all this time? Seriously. How?
And my heart is crushed ... I always like JoePa ... always seemed to love the game, love the kids, etc. I loved the story about him never taking a pay raise or something like that.
This all makes me sick. And heartbroken for those involved. And for Penn State alum and current students and the university in general who will suffer for this.

Thanks, it's a shitty day to be a PSU alum, but my thoughts are with the poor kids that were victimized. While I believe Joe Pa should resign based upon his inaction, it seems miniscule in comparison to what these kids have to endure. I still am Penn State, but a small piece of that has been chipped away by this story.

Well I guess we know who these players were prank phone calling back in 2005...

I included those poor kids ... but what I want to know is really, how did this all come to light NOW? Or why are we just hearing about it? Or am I just late to the situation?

Just heard on fox sports radio Joe Pa will only answer questions about this weeks upcoming game. There is no way he survives by mid afternoon tomorrow.

Forget asking for his resignation. He deserves to be fired.

On page 20, sandusky was interviewed by an investigator with the Dept of Public Welfare and he told sandusky to not shower anymore with boys.
I'm sorry ... why didn't someone at THAT point label the man a child molester??????
eta: THIS WAS IN 1998. Insane.
