After reading this grand jury report on Sandusky, I need to take a shower.

Seemed to have a pattern didn't he. I have taken many a shower at the Toftree's hotel...they had the best shampoo and conditioner.

EVERYONE knew this guy was a predator and they allowed him stick around. They will clean house at Penn State.

ike Nittany said, JP not being charged is huge for his defense, and I agree with that.

That doesn't mean what he did is right, and it doesn't mean he shouldn't be fired. All of the people defending him are getting hung up on that.

Local news has it 50/50 on their poll of whether Joe should step down out of a couple thousand votes.

I'm surprised it's not slanted to him leaving. I can understand the loyalty from the fans as to having him fired versus retiring, but I'd think the vast majority of people there would be of the mindset of "let's just clean house and move on from all of this" from a school/football standpoint.

The DA who shelved the 1998 investigation was declared dead earlier this year, but he mysteriously disappeared in 2005. His car was found in Lewisburg, and his laptop (with its contents unrecoverable) was found in the Susquehanna River.

TOTALLY AGREE with you on that. They're too busy pulling people over at the exit by the hospital and the tech complex. My wife got a ticket over there for going like 4 miles over and the cop said "I wouldn't give you a ticket but I have to because I'm on camera." Ugh.

That definitely doesn't make sense. Especially if they were covering shite up...why allow him to continue to be around if you know he's capable of bad shite. It's just a recipe for disaster that is coming to light in the coming weeks. Not that it would absolve them from it all, but cutting ties with this a-hole would seem like the obvious thing to do. Weird shite.

Arrogance is my guess. They thought they were more powerful then they actually were. This is almost identical to the Church scandal. It amazes me how PSU couldnt see the writing on the wall unless other big whigs were involved as well.

Right to you personally. Or anyone else personally. Just because you or me think we'd have acted differently doesn't mean he is wrong (and FWIW, I agree with you that if he covered it up, that's bad/wrong/immoral/whatever).

Actually, the main people "defending" him are simply pointing out that he is being villified based on pure speculation (at this point). That's it.

I don't think me, Lester, or JG would sit here and say that JP should be commended for anything he did...simply saying that he did, in fact, report it. And let's wait and see what else develops. But you and some others are acting like people are in here saying "Raping kids is awesome LOL" and that kinda shite. It's an overreaction in every sense of the word.

Lewistown maybe? I used to stop at the Ollie's there all the time for old computer books. It's between State College and Harrisburg on 322. It wouldn't have been that hard to leave a car there if foul play was involved.

Him passing the news to people above him is not turning his head. He has a football team to coach. A gameplan to write. Players to recruit. I think he did the right thing by not getting directly involved. No need to be a patriot about it when I am sure he assumed that the AD would handle it.

That could possibly explain why he didnt personally put a stop to it for a week or so, but not for a damn decade. JoePa is a sham.

Yes it does. Not going to the police with this is wrong. Very wrong, and I don't know how you can make an argument to the contrary.

Hes being vilified because he could have stopped this from happening and didn't.

Schultz testified that he was called to a meeting with Joe Paterno and Tim Curley, in which Paterno reported "disturbing" and "inappropriate" conduct in the shower by Sandusky upon a young boy, as reported to him by a student or graduate student. Schultz was present in asubsequent meeting with Curley when the graduate assistant reported the incident in the shower involving Sandusky and a boy. Schultz was very unsure about what he remembered the graduate assistant telling him and Curley about the shower incident. He testified that he had the impression that Sandusky might have inappropriately grabbed the young boy's genitals while wrestling and agreed that such was inappropriate sexual conduct between a man and a boy.

While equivocating on the definition of "sexual" in the context of Sandusky wrestling with and grabbing the genitals of the boy, Schultz conceded that the report the graduate assistant made was of inappropriate sexual conduct by Sandusky. However, Schultz testified that the allegations were "not that serious" and that he and Curley "had no indication that a crime had occurred." Schultz agreed that sodomy between Sandusky and a child would clearly be inappropriate sexual conduct. He denied having such conduct reported to him either by Paterno or the graduate assistant.

Everyone who knew and did not notify the authorities enabled the rapes to continue. They gave the mf'er a key so that he could still use the showers that he raped the kids in. This is extreme negligence at the least.

This fact cannot be overstated and Joe Paterno has complete control over what goes on in those facilities I can assure you. Its laughable to defend this man.

If this was gambling or drug use then I would be in agreement with you, but we are talking about pedophilia(sp) in a situation where kids are brought up to respect/trust their coaches. This is pedophilia at a place where parents send their children with the expectation that nothing bad will happen. It is basically identical to the Church scandal. In this case parents were unknowingly handing their children off to a sexual predator.

No shite.

Funny how 5 of the guys are OSU fans, one is from Ohio, one is a former disgruntled PSU student....
