Doesn't the State open the Super Dome for Tulane free of charage?

Who pays for the lights, AC, and concession personal upfront?

If the State does and it is cash short, time to close the Dome to Tulane.

I think 973 is probably overstating the actual number of people who sat in the stands. I have been to some Tulane games where I wondered if there were 500 fans at the game. If you count all the workers and the teams and all the teams' entourage, I could see that 500 become 1000.

Anyone who believes the 973 is unbelievably low hasn't been to a Tulane game since Katrina. The solution? Build an on-campus stadium that seats 30,000, lax academic standards for all football players, not just a few, hire a young coach with fire in his belly, and hire a P.I. to investigate LSU and turn in any NCAA infractions to the NCAA so that Tulane can start getting more 3 and 4 star Louisiana recruits.

The day is coming, if it hasn't already arrived, that teams will use some version of this practice to weaken their rivals.

Tulane football is broken. Even in 98 when Tulane went 12-0, they'd be lucky to have 15,000 at the Dome. Announced numbers were a good bit higher, but I went to a few and until the end of the season, there were well below 10,000 in attendance. I say give Tulane football one more go, a real go, and if it doesn't work after five or ten years, drop the program down to a lower division.

I like this idea.

That's pretty sad. It would seem that people in Louisiana could support more than one football team. That is the great thing about college football. If your favorite team isn't winning, there are lots of other teams to pull for. I'm originally from Alabama, so in addition to the college I went to, I pull for Alabama, Auburn, UAB, and Troy. My wife is a Texas A&M grad, so I'm also a big A&M fan.

UAB has the same problem in regards to local fan support. It's not just indifference, many of the Alabama fans almost make it their mission to post negative comments about the program on every article written about UAB on al.com. Not sure where all the hate comes from. UAB is close to building an on campus stadium. Tulane needs to do the same.

I know that I'm beating a dead horse when saying this, but Tulane needs to do whatever it takes to build a new stadium. At this point, anywhere in the city that has space would be a good fit. Even home games that they play at Tad Gormley stadium draw crowds of 20-25k. College athletes don't just want to play for a winning program, they want to play for a program with a good college atmosphere. Playing in a 70k seat dome that's barely 10% full every weekend is not going to draw a 4-star recruit to come play for that program.

Tulane should hire me to count attendance....

I'm visually impaired. I see everything in duplicate. Attendance would become 973 x 2 =1946

UAB fans have an excuse though... if you're gonna hire somebody and the Alabama board vetoes it. how is that okay in the eyes of the NCAA?

oh BTW UNO's club team drew 475 at Hoss Mehmtas Stadium Saturday going up against LSU-Auburn on TV, Chalmette-Rummel, and St. Aug-Riverdale
