Excuse me but your bias is showing. Good luck with kiffin though, i hear he's a real straight shooter.
Ol' Kiff has been a straight shooter ever since he's been at SC. I will be honest with you, I was not a fan of his when he got hired, but he is winning me over with results.

And I make no apologies for bias, nor should you. As a college football fan I expect you to be biased towards LSU, and you should expect I will be biased towards SC.

I can say to you with a clear and unbiased mind though, that although you have a great many things to be proud of about last season, the way you finished it was not one of them.

On the other hand, kicking the shite out of ucla is always a hoot. It was like Christmas.

If entire school is responsible, what does this say about our educational institutions in general? I put it to you that this is an indictment of our entire American society! I'm not going to sit here and let Mark Emmert badmouth the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

(probably already posted, not gonna read 13 pages to see)

I already indicted the whole universe.

I think the NCAA needs to give it the death penalty.

Loweralabamatrojan, if USC and UCLA were 1-2 in the polls and met in the regular season, with USC eking out a close and hard fought victory at UCLA, and at the end of the season it was USC 1, and say 2011 Oklahoma State and UCLA with 1 loss (to USC) as possible opponents, which would be more appropriate as a title game opponent in your view? Just curious. Not trying to flame. It's the closest scenario I can think of and just want your take.
My take is y'all got screwed by the BCS last season. You should not have had to play Bama again, and you deserved to play Oklahoma State and beat them in NOLA and enjoy a fairy tale ending to a great season. Just one of the many reasons why the BCS is a lame duck system that we're getting rid of.

I'm not going to read through the entire thread to see if anyone has mentioned this, but is it possible that the NCAA is going to kick them out? Can they even do that? That is the only thing they could do that would be worse than the death penalty.

It would not surprise me.

There have been a lot of comparisons to the Church pedophile scandal and the Church's loss of credibility and I don't think the NCAA wants to be put in the same situation.

How are they going to handle some minor non criminal thing like paying players or something in the future if they let institutional covering up of felonies go???

The NCAA is aa knee-jerking their way through this.

I hate the NCAA and I hope PSU doesn't comply with sanctions.

How does the lynch mob mentality help the kids? It doesn't. How does it help those hurt by Sandusky? It doesn't. How does it further the NCAA mission, it doesn't.

This isn't justice, it's a lymch mob.

IMO the 'unprecedented penalties' that are hinted at do not equal harsh penalties beyond what the NCAA has done before; this is pure spin

the 'unprecedented' part is that these standard penalties have not been given out for these type of crimes before-hence 'unprecedented'

The NCAA has to protect themselves here too.

If today they fail to act very strongly then lawsuits will follow claiming they too contributed to the situation and failed also to do their job in supervising member institutions.

Justice is something better left to the law.

Good thread genro, enjoyed the discourse. Have a great Sunday.
