Crumbl owner went to BYU and paid the coaches raise to keep him.

Penn state was foolish for shitcanning Franklin. They think they’re Ohio State, but they’re peak Wisconsin.

So they can win a NC in year 3, go 10-2 for a few seasons and level off at 7-5 for the next 8 years?

Penn State and many others are about to find out how much money the LDS has. If they decide to unleash only a tiny fraction of that money on football a promotional tool for their mission they will be a monster in this new era of money ball.

I would say that they're Nebraska east.

Naw they have more fertile recruiting grounds for sure. They are more like Tennessee. The advantages they had in the 90s are gone but they still have the resources and support to a consistent top 25 team.

I’m not sure you understand Nebraska’s futility the last decade making a comment like that.

This is patently false. There may not be a tremendous difference between #17 and #28, but there is a vast difference between #17 and #100

combined HS / Transfer
Indiana
2022 30
2023 44
2024 46
2025 39

Texas Tech
2022 46
2023 35
2024 26
2025 21

Ole Miss
2022 15
2023 17
2024 17
2025 16

So with combined rankings Ole Miss fits the bill of a top talent roster.

Texas Tech doesn't look the part but when you put it into context they're #1 in their conference in talent composite and played 0 ooc p4 games this year.

Indiana is the major outlier but it's important to remember half of the big ten recruits poorly and Cignetti is a unicorn.

Also if you look at talent composite and notice those combined rankings don't add up because you'd expect Indiana to be in the 40s and not the 70s you are correct. 247 talent composite uses original high school grades to calculate rating for talent composite and not updated ratings for transfers. So a guy like Mendoza who was a 4 star transfer gets treated as a 2 star. They have a ton of guys that were 3 / 4 star transfer who weren't graded out of HS that contribute nothing to the talent composite rating.

They just lost another commit to VT. Down to 4 commits now heading into signing day tomorrow. Penn St mod on 247 says he expects 3 of their last 4 commits to also flip tomorrow. Holy shite.

The NCAA fricked up the calendar so badly.

Signing day while teams are still playing is the dumbest thing ever.

Penn State has no one to blame, but themselves.
