He did , Kraft got involved and forced Bills hands.
It was a story a few weeks ago, Bill wanted to move on after this season, and stayed up for nights, agonizing over the decision, but Kraft told him they had to show loyalty. And Brady won out, which is why the deal was made.

Even though i like Jimmy G he will never win a Super Bowl and Brady will win at least 1 more. So all these idiots can post all the age bs metrics and 2-0 records they want but in real life sports the goal is to win as many titles as possible, Brady will and has Jimmy G won’t and can’t.

This story was pretty much debunked when it came out how Belichick reacted to Lynch asking to trade for Brady in the off-season.
