PSU is done. Recruits will flee. They are not going to get a premier coach. What big name coach wants to go live in Paterno's polarizing shadow? They'll have to settle for some promising young guy that will be ok with being micro-managed by the PSU Board of Trustees.

None of these witnesses did anything about it because they were looking to Joe Palester for leadership. He is a God there and he wanted it quit so it stayed quiet. Other than Sandusky himself, Paterno is the most culpable of all because everyone was looking to him and was too scared to do anything without him giving the ok.
that's really my point. Everyone there, assumed joe would handle it. I mean he's freaking Joe Paterno. I see the assistant D coordinator touching boys, I' going to tell JoePa and he's going to deal with it. And nothing ever gets dealt with. I mean, before last week, if you would have told 100 fans here to name the most truth worthy coach in America, joe pa would have been on 98% of people's top 3 list.

everyone there, the janitor, even the red head I believe, wanted to do the right thing. they just made the (wrong) assumption that the right thing was letting joepa handle it.

dude, its not as if he never said anything about it to antone, y ou tell superiora those things because its their job to deal with them. it doesnt matter if being a superior in name only was important, it their job.

its like when a teacher sends your kid to the principals office for being a cun. its the principals job to deal with cuns, because a teacher cant focus on his or her job and deal with y our snotnosed brats

Very sad day for Penn St, Joe Pa, College football etc. Joe had a moral obligation to report what he heard to the State College police, however he is not the criminal. He has been made a pariah overnight by the media. The same media who I fell need to be directing their venom towards the real criminal Jerry Sandusky....btw where is he? Why isnt the media busting down his door and camping on his lawn?

I honestly don't expect Joe Pa will live much longer. Think about it, for the first time in 46 years Joe Pa will wake up in the morning....and will have nowhere to go. He'll never be on the sidelines again. Its obvious the man loved football. He'll have nothing to keep him going anymore.

he should be gone as well.

He should be charged with aiding and abetting.

Waiting a day to 'tell his dad' is just unacceptable.

He had a moral - and I would think, legal - obligation to alert the police immediately of a crime in action.

Fire them all. Clean sweep.

His inaction may have allowed boys to be raped.

The fact that Paterno could not completely seperate himself from football and view the severity of this event is mind boggling. His last effort to appear admirable within the confines of this was shite on by his own ego. He will regret not stepping down in effort to show some amount of respect to the victims.

Hopefully the "it wasn't up to us" defense works out as well for them as it did for all of the Nuremberg defendants.

Dude, we're dealing with child rape. Not some kid throwing paper airplanes in middle school.

WTF - dude I really hope you don't think this way and are trolling.

You are informed that a your colleague raped a boy in the bathroom and you ignore it!
What kind of human being are you!

Then you see that person come back each time with a different boy and you let it slide because you have other things on your mind? And you like this person and so don't press the issue?

JOE PA DIDN'T do enough.

When a child is being raped and sexually assaulted - nothing is too little - frick man for your sakes I hope you really get back your moral compass.
