The parent statement is incredible

quote:

ultimate suspensions of these two coaches — that apparently led to his decision to resign rather than address — are complex and difficult issues that are not fodder for public consumption.

quote:

They include personal issues involving minors,

This is so vague. Sounds like they’re tossing shite at a wall and using the word “minor” to stir up a nothingburger.

quote:

inappropriate language and behaviors

Coach dropped an F bomb or what?

quote:

and an atmosphere that was anything but team friendly

According to who? Your kid that didn’t get to play?

quote:

There have been at least five well-respected assistants, excellent football players themselves, who were not able or willing to work with Stephen and Mike, to the detriment of the whole program.

These parents seem to have a good handle on the coaching pool.

quote:

Luckily this negative and dysfunctional dynamic failed to tear the team apart but instead led to an even more unified team!

That statement, to anyone who actually reads it, makes the parents look even worse.

First, they vaguely “accuse” him of abuse of minors. That will backfire big time if it’s false. Second, they use a word salad to say exactly what the coach said. He resigned because he was not allowed to coach. I.e. he was too mean to their little babies. Third, they admit that the coaching worked because they were winning, but just tried to shape it as in spite of his coaching, not because of it. Lastly, and the worst of all, is the “our little babies were so courageous to complain” statement.

Idiots

It absolutely is. That’s why I posted it verbatim without comment, then commented on it in a separate post.

Within 5 years I'll bet 1/3 of those players have an arrest. If they've had mommy (let's be honest, most of this overprotective behavior is from helicopter moms) saving them from the consequences of their actions all their lives, adulthood is going to be a shock. No one is going to care you were the starting TE five years ago on a district champion football team.
