His original story said Smith was arrested in 2015, which led to the Meyer questioning at B1G media day, which has led to today.
He was never arrested in 2015, so that could EASILY have been why Meyer said 2015 was "nothing"
Lol. Ok, you are grasping at straws to prove some laughable truths.
So he was not "arrested", but the truth is that Zack Smith had his lawyer involved in a police investigation on "on felony counts of domestic violence and felonious assault against Courtney Smith."
I'm sure him being a coach at tOSU had nothing to do with not being "arrested".
Phew, that is so much better. He's a sweet guy after all I guess.

Police: "courtney, if we arrest your husband he will likely lose his $400k coaching job and never be able to coach college or HS football again. Are you sure you'd like to move forward at this time?"
I'm sure those words were never said.

Ohio law gives the police the ability to arrest and press charges without the victim’s consent in domestic violence situations.
So that theory is invalid.
So that theory is invalid.

unless Urban Meyer wants said party protected because of his relationship with Earle Bruce.
just like in 2009 when they pleaded with Courtney Smith to drop all charges

Depriving someone of their constitutional rights without the ability to defend themselves in court is 100% constitutional?

but she got a restraining order that same month, and filed for divorce a month later?
interdasting that he thought nothing went on

Oh so now Urban is paying off the police?
I love this board.

Given this, do you expect for Zack Smith to sue tOSU for wrongful termination? Under the expectation that this was all a misunderstanding because Courtney Smith is simply a lunatic?

If the ex parte restraining order is dropped as expected, he either will receive a settlement or yes 100% will sue.
And y'all will freak out that Ohio State is paying off Smith to keep him quiet even though he will update be contractually obligated to the money.

LOL given all the baggage that’s been revealed about this dude over the past few weeks there’s no way in hell he’ll successfully sue, remove your Buckeye goggles and think logically here man Buckeye fans dying on the hill of a WR coach with a DV allegation history

Ohio State wouldn't want this to linger, they will settle out of court. That's common sense.

quote:McMurphy admitted in a deadspin article that he didn’t think it was necessary to reach out to Shelley Meyer because he already had the accurate facts, even though he’s had to edit factual inaccuracies (without notification):
That's all they have to hang on to. McMurphy mincing a few words. Like it erases everything ele
quote:In addition, he didn’t even attempt to reach out to her because:
It could have got her side, but part of me is also like, I’ve been working on this story for three weeks; there’s no way that somebody else is not pursuing the same story. And again, by not contacting Shelley Meyer, it doesn’t change the accuracy of the story, it just would’ve given her the opportunity to give a comment on her behalf.
quote:Not reaching out to all parties and not issuing corrections to inaccuracies (but editing anyways), are both inexcusable. And not reaching out because “she would notify Urban” and because “others are probably pursuing the same story,” are not only poor excuses, those show that McMurphy would rather break the story than get the whole picture.
Because I know once I reach out to her, she’s immediately going to Urban.

Where am I implying it’s all a misunderstanding? I just pointed out your flawed theory.
If police thought there was enough evidence of domestic abuse, Courtney Smith had zero say into an arrest and charges.

That’s might be if he sues, he doesn’t have grounds to sue given all the trouble he caused the university and his very sketchy history THAT’S common sense you clear Buckeye fan that’s why these contracts have moral/reputation clauses for coaches behavior that may cause reputational risk to the university

So you are saying that the police were documented in intervening 3 times, and all 3 times it was Courtney Smith's fault?
2009
2015 "investigation"
2017 trespass warning
"A report from December 2017 said that Zach Smith was served with a trespass warning after showing up at his ex-wife’s house drunk at 1:30 a.m.. The report stated that Courtney Smith was asleep, but Zach Smith was seen by a neighbor, and he appeared drunk, was banging on windows, and threw a Christmas wreath on the door to the ground."

When you can’t rebut someone without sounding like an idiot, go for the ad hominem have a good day Buckeye fan

Ohio State is contractually obligated to pay Smith his money unless he violated the contract.
