So, he's back on the team. As I suspect he would be.

What was the point of sitting him in the CWS if he was coming back this year?

There was a thread about him on the SEC Rant a while back. I found this article that I linked then in the previous thread.

The only way that I think Heimlich is still on the team is that his coaches and teammates don't believe he did it. Otherwise, I don't see how anyone could stomach being around the guy.

The accuser in the case was his brother's ex-wife, and Heimlich's family still denies anything happened. His family claims he was pressured into taking a plea because there was no jail time involved and because of the severe penalties that would have been imposed if convicted.

I'm not saying he's innocent, but these child sex cases have the highest rates of false pleas and convictions in our judicial system. And the number of false abuse allegations is even higher in divorce and custody cases, which Heimlich's brother seemed to be involved in at the time of the accusations.

If they believe that why not keep him for the CWS. LSU knocked them out but with Heimlich in I'm not so sure that happens and then they're in the final.

PR move is my guess. The article revealing this came out during the NCAA tournament I believe, right before the CWS. There's no way to spin that or do damage control. I'm guessing the closer we get to the tournament this year, he and his family will likely release some statement that I assume Oregon State's coaching staff and players will get behind.

You don't take a plea if they don't have reason to believe he'd be convicted.

You ever prosecuted or defended a child sex case? Your presumption of innocence goes out the window. A jury or a judge is looking to convict someone, anyone, of the offense, and you can't effectively cross-examine a 6-year old, who often doesn't even comprehend the questions you're asking. People in this country plead guilty to crimes they didn't commit every day to avoid jail time or prison.

I basically ran the lynch mob last year against this guy

I just read some more facts

It seems like he got railroaded honestly. He passed psych evals and polygraph tests maintaining his innocence. I think the ex-wife mother who didnt have custody made everything up

Read my link. Me and you fricked up and likely were part of an internet lynch mob against an innocent kid

I feel pretty bad honestly about my behavior

Nope, it was to rid of a serious distraction.

I knew they would let it all blow over and bring him back. Good thing the Beavers won't suck and the spotlight will eventually shine bright on the situation again.

I hope it does now. Now that the full story is out, I think people will feel alot differently.

Inadmissible polygraphs and denying anything isn't a full story.

He might be getting railroaded. We'll never know. What we do know is he plead guilty. It may have been the best course for him and his family but he still plead guilty.

I also don't see his brother standing up for him either.
