They play on Friday nights, it will not be that hot ever. They have to worry more about drainage for the rain than heat.

No, the NFL has banned non-green turfs.

The league voted on Tuesday to require teams to keep their playing surface green. This is known as the “Boise rule” in reference to Boise State’s field.

Must be a luxury having that much money to throw around and not have to worry about pre-game meals, laundry detergent, and a shortage of football helmets....

Where in the world do they get all this money??

From the article:

quote:

Four major sponsors — Les Schwab Tire Centers, Roth’s Fresh Markets, Meduri Farms and the West Salem Rotary Club — each gave major donations to the project and their logos have been sewn into the home sideline of the field, off the playing surface for all sports.

“I think given the economy the way it is, I think people realize now the ideal of having all the money we want in the public trough, if you will, is gone,” Sutherland said. “It’s a terrible economy, things are tough.

“We’re going to have to turn to advertising, that’s the way it is. All four of those are West Salem businesses.”

I'm not really from anywhere. Did I say Albany is the Mecca of Oregon? I actually lived in North Albany and hardly was ever in town.

Yes, Salem is a shithole.

Eta....judging by your grammar you must be from Salem.

As a frequent visitor of the state, I am not a big fan of Salem. Personally love spending time in Ashland and my grandpa has a house on the beach between Yachats and Waldport.

LSUintheNW, I have an aunt and uncle who have lived in North Albany longer than I've been alive. Uncle worked for the state police. But they live just north of that golf course and school once you cross the river.

That field would make me think I was playing in an asphalt parking lot. Looks like shite....but it's their money.

But FieldTurf offered a price break if West Salem chose a unique color so the school is going with a black field at a cost of just under $300,000.

Why the frick would FieldTurf do this?

So the thing I've taken from the article is Field Turf doesn't even last 10 years. $300K-$400K and you don't even get a decade of use. That's a worthless product imho.
