They dismantled them. Oregon didn't start moving the ball and scoring until the game was over, don't know what game you were watching?A lot of those points and yards came late in the game when the battle was over. And you are wrong about them being the only one, LSU gave up a lot of yards against West Virginia also, but it was the same thing, the game was already over early on!

Dont know about dismantled. Oregon dominated LSU in every stat except the one that decided the game and that was turnovers by the true freshman playing his first college game. That was the most points and yards LSU gave up all of last season. Keep that in mind.
Yeah, but it's the defense that needs to actually get those turnovers, no?
And again, did you watch the game?
LSU dominated that game.
Where Oregon pulled ahead of LSU in total yards was in garbage time when LSU was already up by multiple TDs a
D called off the dogs.

In the NFL the current look is that offenses win, so the difference between college and the NFL is pretty big right now. I just don't think I understand what you are getting at. Great in college at anything doesn't mean you will be great on the professional level.
In the grand scheme of things how is College Football different from Pro Football when using the phrase "Defense wins Championships?"

I'm willing to bet Bama or lsu wouldn't have lost to Iowa state. If ok state wouldn't have lost to them, they would have gotten to prove they could cross the 50

Probably. Would they have held them to 21 points.
Are you saying OSU deserved to be there more than LSU

That was a horrible trap game for LSU
And your comment doesn't change a damn thing to what I said.
It isn't like LSU hadn't already smashed a more prolific offensive team than OSU already in the season.

LSU led 16-13 at half over Oregon. Hardly call that over early on.

Arguably twice.

The rematch should never have happened, I feel for Bama, but they lost fair and square. A conference winner should have been there like OSU. The rematch game had diaster written all over it. Alabama was super hyped for the rematch and LSU came out and played their worst game of the whole damn season!

And i'm sure millions of people around the country thought the same thing when OK. st. played Iowa St. That's why its called an upset. Sometimes it happens.......ULM/Utah over Bama. Kentucky over LSU. Sometimes it just happens.

And they didn't score again till within the last 10 minutes of the 4th, whereas LSU kept clicking the TDs...

I have some family ties to Oregon and root for them when they don't play LSU. I also kind of enjoy watching a team that is a complete 180 from LSU.

hmm... Just got back from dinner with the gfs rents and its a massive beat down.
silly ESPN talking heads telling us ASU was a legit team that would boost USC's SOS down the road.

LSU led 16-13 at half over Oregon. Hardly call that early on.

But the difference is that both of your examples the upsetting team wasn't a 30 pt dog.
It takes a LOT for Vegas to give a spread that high.
And another difference is that only ONE of the three examples were a title winning team.

Just think if someone(OC) ran that type of offense at LSU with the athletes LSU have on offense. Along with the defense it would be lights out for anyone in the country, but we have to have ole doofus as a head coach!
Sigh....you don't get it. It'll never happen with Miles there.
I like to dream about Chip Kelly being the head coach running the offense and Chavis running the defense. :unstoppable:

quote:You read the last sentence? I pretty much said it will never happen with Miles there, so I think I get it!! All Miles had to do was bring in Rich Rodriquez or Mike Leach last year to run the offense while they were out of football.
Sigh....you don't get it.

Blame it on the alcohol. I'm assuming you're drinking too cause there's no reason to even mention an OC with LSU.
