I think it is clear that Oregon is the best team outside of the SEC. Unfortunately for the rest of the country the SEC is being given the benefit of doubt by most voters. I may be biased here, but I think it is well deserved.
I'm not saying it is a given that a 1 loss SEC team gets in, but unless Oregon, KState and ND are undefeated compared to an SEC on loss team (Bama, LSU, Florida or South Carolina would be only good options) then the SEC will be in.
My point is that we should be asking if the best offense can get PAST the best defense, not if the defense can stop the offense. 6 years running the defense has beat out the offense, of course they can stop them. The question is if the offense can beat out historic SEC defenses.

2 of those 6 years Ohio St. didn't have that "great offense."
Omit last season because Oklahoma St. didnt get the chance they deserved. Instead we were bored with "Snoozefest II"
Also Oregon shut down Cam Newton like no one in the SEC could.

You don't get to omit a year where 2 SEC teams outplayed the whole rest of the country.
