ND should be AHEAD of OSU. Yes I do understand what’s going on. Seedings matter and there’s no world where 2 loss team losing to unranked rival as a 20+ favorite on the last Saturday should be seeded over a 1-loss team who lost early in the year to a nobody and then beat the hell out of everyone else.
Just like Alabama should not be ahead of Miami. We can discuss all the close wins but they never got railed by Oklahoma (unranked) and failed to score a TD. This giving them their 3rd loss.

The real crime will be when tOSU gets that 5 seed over them. ND should get to host a home game.

ND is really good. Better than most think. That north Illinois loss was a long time ago… they have dominated teams they have beat like they should have.

That’s not the way your post read.
I mean OSU doesn’t belong ahead of ND but at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter. Honestly might be better for them depending on who ends up 3/4.

I'm pretty sure the reason the independents are ineligible for the first round bye is that the conf champs have to play (and win) an extra game. The bye is their reward. So if we wanna take the top two independents and make them play an "independents championship game", sure, figure out a way to them a bye.

When they play an independent conference championship game maybe they will.
Until then ND should get the punishment of playing in the first round regardless of seed.
Skipping a conference championship game is their first round bye.
