One of the biggest tragedies in sports - Durant to GS

I hate it for two reasons...

1. It completely ruined LeBron’s homecoming to Cleveland. We unfortunatley only got two good years of watching Cleveland teams that actually had a chance to win The Finals. We lost out on one of the potentially all time great rivalries in Steph’s Warriors vs LeBron’s Cavaliers. I really think it would’ve approached Celtics/Lakers in prestige and intensity. Instead, we got a hollow rivalry that essentially ended after Game 7 when Durant’s fragile self joined their team.

2. The Warriors have made the Finals essentially irrelvant as long as Durant is there. We’re only going to get a 4 or 5 game series as long as he is there. What makes the NBA special is getting those classic game 6/game 7 masterpieces. With Durant, we’ve been completely robbed as fans.

Jesus Christ just stop. The Warriors' best team was pre-Durant.

Are you insane? They didn’t get better by adding the 2nd best player in the league?

Durant had nothing to do with the Cavs making bad roster moves and installing a retard as head coach

No. Their 73-9 team that didn't win a title was pre-KD.

Every team In the west playoffs woulda beat Lebron last year. Lebron ruin his homecoming by just not being good enough and by running off kyrie.

Cavs had essentially the same team vs the Warriors year 3 as year 2 when they beat them. They also took them to 6 (nearly 7) the first time around with no Love and Kyrie only playing game 1.

It’s not unreasonable to think the Cavs could have beaten them again and repeated had the Dubs not added Durant. Could have been a great 7 game series at the least. Durant has taken much of the intrigue out of the playoffs when it’s just automatic that they’ll win.

So their team that didn’t win a title was better than the past two teams who cruised to the title?

I mean you can even go further back and blame Ray Allen for making that impossible 3 pointers against the thunder.

Record-wise, sure, but I think the 2017 team was better when we consider the talent that comprised that starting unit and how they absolutely STAMPEDED through the playoffs/Finals: fo' fo' fo' fi' just a legendary, all-time performance can't top it they were on a mission that whole season

That Cavs team caught some lucky breaks and also made some huge “chess moves” that imo, broke the Dubs OG Death Lineup.

Lucky breaks:
1.Bogut going down
2. Steph not being 100%

Chess moves:
1. Neutering Harrison Barnes
2. Baiting Draymond

Also getting their Big 3 to play great basketball, solid role player/bench contributions from RJ,JR,etc. in that playoff run.

Barnes is the big thing though. He’s not even the alpha on a rebuilding Dallas team. He really was supposed to be a big part of that team going forward, as someone who could really develop into a All Star level player.

He’s not that guy, I think the series broke him and the Dubs wouldn’t have been the same team with him back the next year. shite, that Spurs team without the Kawhi injury really could have beat a Barnes Dubs team. They were really good.

As Barkley said “the warriors are a dynasty because of KD” I agree with him. They don’t win the last two titles without KD/Barnes there instead.

I love Lebron but his fans are annoying af

How about becoming a fan of one team and sticking with them? The Miami Lebron team “ruined” the Celtics (their guys were acquired via trade) as well as home grown teams in Indy and Chicago.

I was thinking like Roberto Clemente or the Marshall plane crash. But yeah Kevin Durant signing with the Warriors was sad too
