Tim Beckman would be a really good candidate now that I think about it. Toledo was trash when he got there and they'll contend for the MAC championship. I don't know how closely they'll want the new coach to be a disciple of Tressel though.

Skip Holtz may be alright, but I don't want Lou calling for OSU v ND in the title game every year.

So long as he leaves Mark May at home. There are lots of young dark horses out there, but no way do they replace a young guy with another young guy.

exhibit A of all the problems:

this fricker has no idea how to develop a quarterback. my god, with terrelle pryors skill set he could have had cam newton like seasons.

i like fickell, but id like him more with his own staff; JT was far too loyal to some coaching bums.

Of Sprint's list. I would only want to consider Urban Meyer, Bob Stoops, or Jon Gruden. If not on that list, then we would need to consider another directions.

I like Tim Beckman and Mark Dantonio; however, they never can win the big game and have shown they can be in the elite status yet.

I still fell that Urban Meyer will take it, I just don;t think he planned that it would open then soon.

would be funny if Urbs took another coaching job one year removed from saying he retired because he wanted to spend time with his family.

Well if the OSU job presents itself and its his dream job, then I think there is no way he passes it up. You dont get those chances often in life.

Same could be said for Saban at MSU; there is a huge talent gap depending on the team. And Dantonio did beat Wisky last year

And MSU has to fight OSU and Michigan for recruits.

He loves Braxton Miller. Some guys on BuckeyePlanet watch the games out of the country and get the raw feeds. They said he was drooling over Miller during commercial breaks.

urban recruited braxton and had a huge boner for him.

but urban wouldn't let the love of a qb take over his future would he?

edit: and fickell just confirmed that this is official

Pryor/Todd Boeckman 2.0 it seems. Playing out exactly like 2008 all over again

I think it is less of a drastic change this time around.

Bauserman hasn't taken us to any NC games.

TP led the B-10 in completion % as a Frosh. It is wholly possible to keep a green QB from getting you in trouble. Lots of single pass/run reads and out patterns. Add in a running game that could be better than 2008 and the offense could be fine. For that matter you have to go back to 2006 to find a year when Ohio State had a top third passing attack.

The limitation will be Fick, not Miller.

Fickell is hardly doing anything offensively. I can almost guarantee that.

That first game he called plays very aggressively...like a DT would. What does he have to do to get fans' love back? Or is it too late?

Just win, baby.

He needs to act like he owns it. Don't tell me that an assistant coach is making decisions the head coach should be making. You're ultimately accountable so make the damned decision yourself.
