because if this all pays out with chalk winning across the board then really you're just debating what color jersey each team wears at a neutral site when they play each other.

I think both ND and Indiana will get blown out by someone in playoffs

The problem is continuing to have the conference championship games under this system. They are unnecessary and create more harm than good. Sometimes winning them helps you (see Indiana). Sometimes it doesn't (see Georgia). Sometimes losing them hurts your (see BYU). Sometimes it doesn't (see Alabama and, to a lesser extent, Ohio State). Sometimes you win and "lose" (see Georgia last year who lost their starting QB).

They were ALWAYS, from day 1, made for tv money grabs. That's it. College football operated just fine without them for decades. However, in the days of the BCS and, to some degree, the 4 team CFP, they in some cases operated a defacto playoff games. That is not the case anymore where in many instances the two teams playing in the conf. champ game would be at large CFP teams if the conf. champ games weren't played. A team like BYU shouldn't be penalized for being forced to play an extra game. On the flip side, a team like Miami shouldn't be rewarded for NOT having to play an extra game.

The other thing is to stop the weekly CFP polls. All it does is create irrational explanations where none would have been necessary had there not been a weekly CFP poll. On Dec. 2 Notre Dame is ranked ahead of Miami. Then, a week later, despite neither team playing a game, Miami is suddenly ranked ahead of ND? If you want to say that's because Miami beat ND head to head, then I agree. But if that mattered at the end why didn't it seem to matter a week before?

If it hasn't already been said (didn't read the whole thread), the main reason is that OSU was undefeated and #1 coming into the championship game.

Committee has always said that they won't punish a team for playing in a championship game, so they didn't punish OSU, they simply rewarded Indiana for winning and being 13-0.

Clearly I was discussing the semifinals, as this thread is about the seeding of Georgia and Ohio State.

Some insiders said there was some location stuff discussed both for quarters and semis.

They didn't want OSU in the Orange as they could have been at disadvantage playing on Miami's home field if they beat A&M.

Additionally, they mentioned that Indiana being #1 had them in the Peach (I don't know how much say they had)

I agree this is bullshite. Ole Miss should swap places with Oregon, too.

And your draw is actually easier facing Ole Miss than either Bama or Oklahoma.

2v3 doesn't change the fact that Bama and OU are on the other side of the bracket. We would get the Miami/aTm winner instead of Ole Miss/Tulane. That's the one change.

Yeah, that screwed things up.

Very disrespectful that they weren't worried about the same issue with Tulane in the Sugar Bowl!!!

Does Tulane play in the Superdome? I don't think they do but I don't follow Tulane at all

No, they used to play in the Dome but they have an on-campus now, so it's not the same. I was just making a joke.

They are using Georgia to eliminate SEC teams... They know they are going to end up with 1 SEC team, They are trying to avoid a SEC vs SEC for the championship.

Which mighty SEC team outside of UGA do you think is good enough to win it all.
